Spin and Sculpt activity mat for customised phonics practice.
Print out the mat on a colour of your choice (I chose brown in my example photo), laminate and then add a split pin and paper clip as the spinner. Finally, write the phonics you wish to focus on in whiteboard pen or chalk pen.
Children sound out and read the word, before making it on their mat!
This could be adapted for EYFS by writing single letters and children create their own model corresponding with the initial letter chosen e.g. s for snake etc.
Botanical themed open-ended maths book for beginning of term, allowing students to show you what they can do.
Ideas for use:
Download matching botanical number cards. Pupils choose two cards to create an addition or subtraction calculation
Counting on in 2s, 5s and 10s etc.
Drawing 2D shapes
Position and direction e.g. 3 squares forward, quarter turn to the right, 6 squares forward…

2D and 3D shape cards for the classroom games such as ‘Quiz Quiz Trade’:
Children each have a card.
They put their hand up to signify they need a partner.
Once they have found a partner around the room, greet politely/high 5.
Partner A asks what the shape name is or how many edges (2D shape only), covering the answer with their thumb.
Partner B answers or is coached.
Partner B asks their questions.
Trade cards and find a new partner!
