This is a Bundle of 4 grammar focused lesson for Adult ESL students who are Intermediate level and above. If you need to teach Past Perfect Tense, Passive Voice, 2nd Conditional and 3rd Conditional to you adult ESL students, this bundle is for you. These lessons are 4 of the most challenging grammar points that are taught at Intermediate level and above, both for students and teachers. The lessons are structured and with this step by step approach and detailed lesson notes and answer keys, I have made it easy for you to teach. I suggest you begin with the Past Perfect Tense as that introduces past participles which are needed and reviewed in all the other lessons. All of the lessons have a grammar guide, written and spoken activities to practice the target language and many opportunities for differentiation. Like all my resources, these lessons have been designed specifically for adults. They incorporate language that adults will need to use and situations that are relevant to adult learners. I have done all the work so all you have to do is print and go (and do a bit of cutting if you have time). Answers also provided. Language is British/Australian English but there are no big differences to prevent use in US. Slides print to A4 paper. This is a bundle of 3 grammar focused resources using Conditionals for ADULT ESL students. It is designed for students who are Intermediate level and above. Each resource has a reading activity which introduces the conditional form in context. The Zero/First Conditional resource and the Second Conditional resource are based on environmental topics. These lessons can be used with a mixed ability class - there are opportunities for differentiation if necessary; as an independent learning package or with online students. Most of the activities are quite structured, self explanatory and build on each other so they are best done in order. In some exams such as IELTS students need some familiarity with phrasal verbs to get a high score. I created this resource to use with one to one online IELTS students but it’s adaptable to any situation. This is a Low PREP (just photocopy and go) reading and writing lesson for a mixed ability Beginner or low level Pre Intermediate ESL or Adult Migrant Class. It also includes some paired speaking activities. This is a flexible lesson that can be used in a variety of ways: • with a whole class, • a small group or • one to one This reading lesson is based on an Information Text. Speaking and writing tasks are integrated as well as an opportunity to review and practice Present Simple verb forms and question forms. The text has an Australian flavour but will work in any country especially as students have an opportunity to describe animals from their country Some of the language will be challenging for Beginner students so it’s not suitable for complete Beginners (see my lesson My Family and I, if you are looking for something for complete Beginners) but with some scaffolding it will be accessible to most good beginners or low level pre-intermediate students. There is plenty of opportunity to differentiate learning according to your students’ levels and needs. It may take 1 lesson or could take several lessons depending on your learners and how you present the material. The final writing task has 2 options - a simple guided writing task or a more difficult task that involves writing a semi guided Information Report. This resource includes: 7 Activities or tasks which include: 2 x Speaking activities 1 x Vocab activity 3 x Reading tasks A cloze passage with focus on present simple tense 1 x Writing Task (with 2 options) Also included is an opportunity to practice asking and answering questions using the present simple tense. I have done all the work so all you have to do is print and go. The lessons are based on Information Reports all with an Australian flavour which would be great for Australian Adult Migrant classes but they would also work with English learners in other countries as there is also opportunities to discuss and write about aspects of the students own culture or country. I use this lesson with a mixed ability beginner Adult ESL Class. It is a complete lesson (maybe 2) on the topic of work and routines. It is my 2nd lesson on routines/present simple tense and Routines 2 is quite a bit more difficult than the original Routines which is more suited to total beginners. The lesson is based on a text about the work routines of an aged care worker and involves lots of relevant vocabulary as well as practice of the present simple tense. It covers a lot of elementary language and language skills: •Reading and understanding simple text topics. •Present simple tense – focusing especially on 3rd person forms •Question forms – Yes/No and WH questions •Vocabulary of work routines •Speaking practice –asking and answering questions •Writing simple sentences There is plenty of opportunity to differentiate learning according to your students’ levels and needs. It may take 1 lesson or could take several lessons depending on your learners and how you present the material. As in all my lessons, the language is presented in a context that is relevant to adult students with language that they will be able to use in their everyday lives. Use these task cards with your Adult ESL beginner/low intermediate students to practice asking and answering questions using the Present Perfect Tense. These cards are great to use with multi level classes (as beginners’ classes tend to be). They are easy to use because I’ve done all the hard work for you. Included in this resource. 64 task cards - 32 in colour and 32 in black and white 2 grammar reference sheets with a review of Yes/no and Wh question forms a list of common irregular verbs for students to refer to, if needed. There are 2 sets of 16 cards - all with questions in the present perfect tense. Set 1 has the complete question, Set 2 has gaps in the question requiring the student to create the question before asking it. In both Set 1 and Set 2 , questions 1 - 8 are Yes/No questions. Questions 9 -16 are Wh questions which include more difficult vocabulary and will be more difficult to answer. Four resources covering past tenses suitable for Pre Intermediate - Intermediate level Adult ESL Students. They are print and go grammar lessons with content relevant to adult learners. There are no fancy fonts or childish pictures. The emphasis is on good solid content and interesting activities. They are integrated lessons with a mix of speaking, grammar and writing. The lessons begin with some structured grammatical activities which could be done orally first and then written. I use these lessons with a mixed ability beginner Adult ESL Class. This bundle contains at least 2 complete lessons (maybe more) is an introduction to the past tense to describe events in the past that are relevant to the students. I have introduced some commonly used regular and irregular verbs and question and negative forms. It is designed to equip adult ESL students with some basic language to communicate with. It is NOT a comprehensive lesson on the past tense. This lesson focuses on the topic of life experiences and the use of the present perfect tense. Both of these lessons covers a lot of the elementary language: Reading and understanding simple texts about familiar topics. Past simple tense Present perfect to describe experiences Question forms Everyday vocabulary Speaking practice –asking and answering questions Guided writing – writing simple sentences and a short paragraph Extension writing activity The 2 task card resources are designed to supplement and extend the lessons. They will provide an opportunity for your Adult ESL Beginner or Intermediate students to practice asking and answering questions using both regular and irregular verbs in the past simple tense and present perfect tense. These cards are great to use with multi level classes (as beginners’ classes tend to be). They are easy to use because I’ve done all the hard work for you.

Lesson 1 is a complete lesson that focuses on the different uses of the past simple and Present Perfect Tense Lesson 2 and 3 are speaking activities focused on the Past Simple and Present Perfect respectively. These lessons provide a a good opportunity for revision of these tenses separately before they are combined (in Lesson 1) Each resource includes: 64 task cards - 32 in colour and 32 in black and white 2 grammar reference sheets with a review of Yes/no and Wh question forms lists of common regular and irregular verbs for students to refer to, if needed.
