This is a grammar focused lesson using the Third Conditional for ADULT ESL students. It is designed for students who are intermediate level and above. The lesson is based on a text that demonstrates the use of the third conditional form in context. This is a complex grammar point to teach but with this step by step approach and detailed lesson notes, I have made it easy for you to teach. Please note This lesson assumes that students are already familiar with the past perfect. If they are not, I suggest that you teach the past perfect before you begin this lesson. This is a vocabulary lesson for Adult ESL Students who are Intermediate or Advanced level. It is suitable for use with IELTS students as well as general ESL classes. It is one of a series of lessons on Phrasal Verbs. Idiomatic language and especially phrasal verbs are something that high level intermediate or advanced learners find challenging to understand or use. As well as useful in day to day life these idioms are also particularly relevant to the speaking part of the IELTS exam. In some exams such as IELTS students need some familiarity with phrasal verbs to get a high score. I created this resource to use with one to one online IELTS students but it’s adaptable to any situation. This lesson is not specific to IELTS and can be used with any Intermediate/Advanced class.
