3 to 4 lessons for the A2 Islam Theme 3, Part E - Theme 3 – E Islam and migration: the challenges of being a Muslim in Britain today. Includes : Problems created by segregation and assimilation for Muslim communities and individuals living in Britain. Food, dress, practice of religion and education. Role and importance of the Muslim Council of Britain.

2 to 3 lessons for the A2 Islam Theme 3, Part F - Theme 3 – E Western Perceptions of Islam. Focusses on the issues of bias, misinterpretations, inaccuracy and islamophobia throughout the Western world, with focus on Britain. Examples from political views (UKIP/Trump), views from media sources and online media. Evaluates the extent to which the media influences Western perceptions of Islam and whether or not Islam is accurately represented in Britain today. Includes an assessment grid and essay question.

This is an assessment focussing on the beliefs and practices part of the new AQA specification. I use this in an hour lesson. It contains 2 x 1,2,4,5 and 12 marks questions and the mark scheme.

An SOW, based on the A2 themes for the Educas/WJEC A Level Religious Studies. Please note Theme 3 in the AS Level becomes Theme 2 D,E,F on the A2 specification. It is not repeated on this SoW as you should have already taught it at the AS :)

Eduqas/WJEC specifiy 64 words (with definitions) in their ISLAM specification for A2. This powerpoint is hyperlinked, so you (or the students) can choose a random button and it will either take them to the key word or the definition. If they choose to select random key words, they should write the definitions. If they choose a random definition, they should be able to give the correct key word. This works fab on interactive whiteboards. You could add images or youtube links to the "definition" slides.
