French colouring by numbers (Christmas)
Colouring activity reinforcing French colours for weaker groups. Could also be used for numeracy skills - teacher could ask questions eg red + light blue. Pupils refer to légende & give correct answer in French.
Please let me know if you have any problems downloading - I created this resource in Word, but all the numbers seemed to move once I uploaded it, so I created the PDF document instead. Preview looks fine.

TRANSPORT
Text - exploit it in lots of ways -
- Give 'em a mini-highlighter (10 for a quid down Asda!) - highlight what they know.
- Work in pairs translating different sections of the text then feedback to class explaining how they worked various bits out.
- pick out different grammar points - connectives, opinions, quantifiers etc etc.
Future plans vocab and sentence building exercises
Pupils research the vocab then build sentences.
Vocab and activities to say which job you want
Teaches key vocab for job interview role play - which job do you want and why?
Several activities lead pupils to final task whereby they write / say a short paragraph.
Perfect tense plenary!
Pupils GO MAD for this and just want to play it every lesson!! Girls v. boys. One pupil nominates a box they know the answer to .. if they give a correct answer, click on the box and a number of points is revealed ....... or a MONKEY (In which case the team lose all their points) ....or 2 ARROWS (in which case the teams SWAP points). OMG mad for it!!!!!! Enjoy. (Can't take ALL the credit, a colleague gave me the original but I've added the questions for this version). :)
Christmas battleships
A selected pupil gives coordinates in French. Teacher taps appropriate square, which will fly out revealing a blank square or a Christmas pud!! There are 7 to find. The puds are at the bottom of the screen so you need to move them onto the grid before playing. This means you can play more than once! Nice way to end last lesson before Xmas! Sweets needed as prizes of course!! A bag of chocolate coins works well and is cheap! 'Ave it!! :)
P.S. To re-set the game quickly, just click the blue forward arrow to take you onto next screen, then click the blue back arrow. This will return you to game screen with all squares back in place. You can retrieve the Xmas puds from the grid by using the blue curly UNDO arrow.
Film themes - pupils decide which film genre
Just one slide...click on the 8 cinema tickets and a film theme will play. (Pictures are incidental ... they don't match with the music excerpts). Pupils have previously been taught film genres - they must note the correct genre as they listen to each theme. Could also be used to reinforce adjectives for describing films? Scroll to bottom of screen to find answers.
Dans ma valise
Teaches 10 items you might put in your suitcase via various interactive activities. 'Ave it! :)
BIGGEST FRENCH SUMMER WORDSEARCH!
Summer holiday vocabulary wordsearch. Words are listed in English so pupils have to use research tools to find out the French before finding them in the wordsearch. Perfect for that last lesson of the year!!! :)
I've included 3 different formats so hopefully everyone can access it.
Christmas puzzles
OOPS - absolutely NOTHING to do with French! Just a TWO SIDED Christmas puzzle / activity sheet for your last lesson with your French group or your tutor group!! (You can edit the Christmas message to fit your own class.)
Find the Christmas puds!
Just some fun for your last lesson before Christmas! Pupils put their hands up to offer a co-ordinate - teacher (or a chosen pupil) clicks on the corresponding box to reveal either a frowny face or a Christmas pud! If pupil finds a pud, they get a sweet! This activity can be used to practise French numbers and alphabet or as a maths activity linking to co-ordinates topic. Three different versions are included and the letters / numbers can be edited to raise level of challenge.
Christmas French and Maths colouring sheet
Pupils each have a copy of both sheets - cut out the pictures, do the sums and stick the correct part of the picture on top of the sums to create a festive picture which can then be coloured.
Holidays - 3 tenses recognition
Pupils each have a card, which they do not show to anyone else. They must then walk around the room, find a partner and say the French sentence from their card. Their partner tells them what it means in English. If they are correct, the partner reads THEIR French sentence, and their partner must tell them what it means in English. If they both get the English correct, they swap cards and move on to find another partner and repeat. 'Ave it!! :) (They can stick the vocab in their books after the activity and write English meanings).
Work experience vocab and activities
N.B. For slide 9 to work, you need to link it to the 2nd resource (Filles v. garcons powerpoint). To play this game, just keep pressing N or right arrow on keyboard to rotate the questions -wherever it stops, the team must answer that question to get a point!! Or play one girl v. one boy & give winner a sweet. Yes.....bribery......if it works do it!!! 34 years tells me it works!!! :)
French vocabulary - Easter activities
Just a couple of little Easter activities! 'Ave &'em if they are any good!!! :)
Group work - personal qualities for job interview
I stuck the 2 sheets onto a large sheet of A2 paper and got pupils to work in groups of 3/4. They had learned some personal qualities prior to doing the group work. The next lesson they wrote personalised paragraphs, but the group work really helped to build their skills / knowledge beforehand.
