Christmas: Celebrity You Say Game
PowerPoint – 77 slides/75 questions
Based on the TV game show, this activity helps you develop your skills in speaking and listening; working in a team and in taking turns. Against the clock, countdowns are included on all necessary slides.
• Split into teams of two.
• Toss a coin to see which team goes first.
• One person from each team takes turns to the front of the room, standing with their back to the whiteboard.
• In two minutes the rest of the group describe the thing on the board to the person at the front
• Keywords cannot be used.
• The team have to make sure the person at the front can tell what they’re saying; so the team has to work together and listen to other people.
• One point is scored for each word guessed correctly. If a key word is used, the team loses that point and it’s the next team’s turn.

Oral Health Day: Dental Care
World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is celebrated every year on 20 March.
It is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene to looking after everyone old and young.

Could be useful to introduce or recap the topic with entry level students working on employability and independent living skills and in preparation for work placements.
I have used these resources with entry level learners with moderate learning difficulties.
Especially useful if working with students who are used to telling time digitally, but not in using analogue clocks.
