Philosophy: Anselm and Ontological Argument Context and Information Sheet

These clear and engaging revision sheets are indented for independent study or to aid revision for the topic of Philosophy of Religion. Each sheet is downloaded as an A3 Word document and an A4 PDF, for compatibility. I felt it was important to make these sheets as my students sometimes misunderstood the context of the philosophers or the chronology of the arguments (and responses). Therefore, these context sheets aim to tackle these misconceptions and re-examine the theory and/or philosopher within the context in which they should be viewed. This specific sheet is FREE! Alternative topics and philosophers are available through my Tes shop :) Please give feedback! I am always happy to respond to comments - whether positive or constructive - this will help to improve the quality of my resources in the future and, more importantly, the quality of pupils’ RE/RS education in general - which is what we’re all here for!
Institutional Injustice - Discussion PowerPoint/Lesson

Institutional Injustice - Discussion PowerPoint/Lesson

(0)
Discussion-based PPT and COVID-friendly resources. Following the increase in awareness and activism surrounding race issues, it is important to discuss and review some of the more contemporary, relevant discussions relating to institutional injustice in society and in schools. It is especially important to allow our students to explore these debates in a calm, respectful environment, where questions and concerns can be voiced without fear of prejudice or discrimination. I am aware that this is a sensitive topic, however shying away from our more difficult conversations has never led to moral / societal progress. Therefore, I offer this PPT, not as a comprehensive guide or solution to these injustices, but as a starting point for discussions relating to race, equality and justice. In addition, my own race excludes me from the lived experience of many of my colleagues and fellow citizens, and therefore I have created this lesson/PPT from a position of collegiality, to enable and facilitate conversation and as a support to the seen (and unseen) challenges that all people face because of unjust institutions. Please give feedback! I am always happy to respond to comments - whether positive or constructive - this will help to improve the quality of my resources in the future and, more importantly, the quality of pupils’ RE/RS education in general - which is what we’re all here for!

Eduqas GCSE Religious Studies Game: Philosophy and Ethics Revision!

Want to test and stretch your pupils in a fun and competitive way?! 'So you think you know' is a fun and exciting game designed for the classroom! The game revises all aspects of: 1. Issues of Relationships 2. Issues of Good and Evil 3. Issues of Life and Death 4. Issues of Human Rights All you need to play this game are the resources attached. However, you could UP the challenge by using a 4-sided dice! In total, the resource includes 195 differentiated questions - of varying challenge, for pupils to choose independently or team up to answer. (I also use the question cards for intervention/extra revision sessions) with the pupils. Questions and topic (stated via a logo, e.g. heart for Issues of Relationships unit) are on one side and suggested answer(s) are on the reverse - though I appreciate that in RS there is never usually only one correct answer! The rules of the game are below, but they are also on the accompanying PPT. Before we start, you’ll need to know the rules! So here they are: The player with the nearest birthday comes first Their team chooses a container from which to draw the question or (for advanced teams) plays roll the 4-sided die and draw the corresponding question! The team has 20 seconds to answer the question correctly to win the points If, after 20 seconds, the team has not answered correctly, the question goes to ALL PLAY and anyone can win the points! The team with the most points at the end of the game, wins! However: Each team has a ‘PASS’ card, which they can use on any question. This passes the question to another team of their choice who MUST get it right, otherwise they lose 20 points! If they get it right they do not lose any (or gain any!) points! You can use a PASS card to ‘pass’ again to the original team or another team! Each team has a ‘CLUE’ card, which they can use on any question. This allows the team 1 clue to help them get the correct answer. Blank question cards are also included for you to add your own / differentiate specifically for your pupils. Happy teaching!
