The inputs and activities are suitable for young children and consist of a range of practical activities as well as a couple of work sheet style tasks. Printable resources are designed so that they can be used during an adult led task but also left in the provision for children to access independently later to practise their skills.
A great resource for an independent baking activity used in Reception (though could be used with children of other ages). I modeled how to make the cakes to my class, then put them in small, mixed ability groups to make the buns/ cupcakes. I did not help them at all unless they were really stuck and came to ask for help (except with the oven!) They knew that they had to help each other instead. It was amazing how well they did! I modeled how to make the play dough to my class, then the children accessed it themselves. I gave as little help as possible. Children make own play dough regularly. This allows

There are a total of 18 activities that can easily be done at home split over two sheets. Activities are practical using items children will have at home. There are key questions to guide parents delivering the activities at home. The activities are topic based. They cover all areas of the EYFS curriculum. There are art projects, research ideas, movement, imaginative etc. There aren’t really stand alone phonics or number activities but these subjects are addressed in other activities e.g. where writing, stories, counting, size or measuring weights are involved.
Originally made for Covid school/ bubble closures and where children were asked to complete 3 tasks a week, however, it could be easily used as a half termly or termly home learning sheet where children complete one task a week or similar.

Space themed addition word problems for Reception or Year 1.
There are a couple of examples on a power point which can be shown to the class and the children can work together to work out the answers. Animations make the word problem, and how to work out the answer visual.
Then there are differentiated questions (answers below 10 and answers 10-20) to be printed and completed by the children with a self assessment area on them.
At the end there is further ‘mastery’ type questions, which allow for discussion and are clearly explained using pictures to support. There is a mastery question to be printed and completed by the children also.
For EYFS - Reception
A weeks worth of work to be sent home for home learning while schools are closed. This is a document for parents to follow to lead short, practical activities with their child. It includes:
One phonics activity per day (5 in total)- practicing phase 2 and 3 phonics skills rather than parents attempting to teach new sounds
One maths activity per day (addition focus) (5 in total)-using practical objects, using number line, understanding and interpreting number sentences (sums)
All activities have clear instructions for parents to follow and use resources easily found or made at home. It includes advice for parents letter formation and spelling. Each activity has a suggested time it should take.

activity 1- pre- algebra/ missing number activity, ‘mini beast secret code’ - children use the pictures to solve the number sentences

Recipe cards include simple reading opportunities, numerals/ digits to be recognised and pictures to follow meaning children can access them more independently.
