Fracking and the environment A detailed, differentiated and editable 1-2 hour lesson all about fracking and the government’s decision to lift, and then immediately reimpose a ban that had been in place since 2019. In this lesson, the students will learn how oil and gas are extracted from the Earth using both traditional mining and in the case of shale gas, fracking. We will investigate the reasons why fracking is a highly controversial tropic and discuss arguments for and against it. The lesson is ideally suited to students in UKS2 (Year 6) or younger students in KS3 (Year 7). The resources are fully editable, and therefore easy to amend should you wish to use it with other year groups. The lesson is well-differentiated with three-level challenges for each task, contains a variety of activities, an hour long PowerPoint, clips with differentiated questions, clear measurable LOs, new key-term introductions and other activities. Protected Characteristics and the Equality Act Primary PSHE lesson created for Upper KS2 - Specifically Year 6, although it may also suit lower KS3 students in Year 7. PLEASE NOTE - THIS BRAND NEW LESSON WILL BE ON A £1 OFFER FOR 72 HOURS. In this lesson, students will delve into the concept of fairness and examine the differences between equity and equality. We will revisit the term discrimination, then expand on prior knowledge by exploring real-life examples of both direct and indirect discrimination. The class will discuss which groups in our society might require additional support to ensure they have the same opportunities as everyone else. This will naturally lead to an exploration of the Equality Act and its protected characteristics, highlighting how the law helps level the playing field for those most vulnerable to discrimination. The lesson includes a starter activity, a video task with reflection questions, a creative poster design activity, and a reflective plenary. The lesson is fully resourced and ready to use, but also editable for customisation. A 25 minute Tutor Time session created especially for LGBT+ Month (Feb 2019). This is the sixth of six sessions to be used throughout LGBT+ month, each focusing on and exploring the culture and history of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I). The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task.
