This tracker displays all of the new statutory PSHE, RSE and Health guidelines down the left hand side (from the DfE) then the optional code references for how the PSHE Association has broken these down into further, optional content (linked on the document). On the right hand side there are five columns that can be filled in for Year groups 7-11 to show where in each half term the guidance is met. This has been created from the audit made by Brian Reeve-Hayes, PSHE Specialist and consultant. It is currently filed in showing how you the EC Resources Complete PSHE Packs covers all the new statutory guidelines for 2020 PSHE for Years 7 - 11. The document is particularly useful for those using the EC Resources Complete KS3 or Complete KS4 packs as it was created to complement these. 2 HOURS A fully-resourced PSHE / RSE lesson which serves as an introduction to the difference between sex and gender and explores sexuality, identity, language (correct terms) and gender expression. Students will explore new key terminology before investigating the key components of identity and sexual orientation, why some people still find some of the ideas behind this controversial (such as pronoun use) and then educate other students on a trait they will be working on and presenting in small groups (all information needed is included). This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020/24 spiral curriculum (especially for an LGBT+ unit) or for a Citizenship diversity unit. A fun and creative Citizenship / Tutor Time project lesson for students in the last week of term. Could be used for activities week in Humanities or just as a reward lesson the last time you see your class for the summer. Very easy to set up - you will just need a few balloons, string, sellotape, old clothes, felt tips and a any other boxes/construction materials you can find (just things that would usually be thrown in the recycling). The students work in small groups to research and recreate a famous political icon (info sheets and clip tasks included - all instructions on Powerpoint). The lesson can last as long as you want it to, and I gave prizes of sweets at the end for the best one - but that’s optional! My students really enjoyed it and we took pictures at the end for the school website. Hopefully yours will love it too. I’m going to be adding lots more free PSHCE lessons over the coming months.
