A fully resourced lesson which could be used in PSHCE or as over a week of Tutor Time sessions, investigating the climate change protests. Students will discover who Extinction Rebellion and Greta Thunberg are, what they and similar groups and people are trying to achieve, why the urgency and why some people oppose some of the current methods of protest. Students will then form their own views on whether peaceful protest is really enough in the face of a global climate emergency.
This resource pack includes a one hour long PowerPoint with accompanying information pack and worksheets, well differentiated activities, literacy focus tasks, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and debate task. The resources are all in the ZIP file, the images have been uploaded so you can clearly see an example on Tes of some of the contents.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is useful for PSHE, Citizenship or Tutor Time. As with all our lessons, you don’t need any prior knowledge as all the information is included - you can just pick up and teach it.

Students will investigate whether racism is increasing in western countries by studying data and news articles as well as quotations from politicians and academics. Critical Race Theory is also explained in detail, with students exploring why there is so much strength of opinion both for and against CRT as an ideology as well as hearing views from black Brits who have differing opinions on racism in Britain.
This lesson is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning and is best suited to KS4 / KS5.

Why is the news important? KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will discuss what the news is and why people access it. We will discuss whether the news is always reliable, and reflect on why access to truthful and trustworthy news is important. The students will use their fact-checking skills to analyse a set of fake news case files. The lesson includes an information sheet, a key term matching activity, a video clip activity, a set of fake news case files, and a plenary task.

KS2 First Aid - Primary PSHE
First Aid Part 1: Burns and Scalds - New for the 2024/25 Academic Year!
This brand new lesson is the first instalment of our progressive First Aid curriculum, which begins in Year 3 and continues through to Year 6, culminating in lessons on life support and CPR.

Developed as part of our enhancement to the primary PSHE scheme of work, this lesson is designed to fit seamlessly into our Year 3 module on personal safety, risk, and fire safety.
The lesson starts by building on previous content, focusing on identifying common hazards that can cause burns or scalds. It then introduces key terms, includes a video clip with reflection questions, and features a partner-based problem-solving task where students create a flow diagram to demonstrate how to respond to minor or severe burns and scalds.

2 HOURS - Best suited to UKS3 or KS4 (could also be used for KS5 if wished). A brand new lesson created for students to digest and evaluate the horrific events we saw in the UK in summer 2024. Students will investigate how misinformation over social media caused riots across the UK, how the memory of a tragedy was hijacked by thugs who looted and attacked cities, and if there’s anything we can do to help stop such events in future, through critical thinking and awareness of mob mentality.
Students will also explore the harsh penalties given by the government to deter would-be-rioters in future and how counter-protesters took to the streets to protect communities, mosques and other public buildings.

This detailed 23 page PSHE / RSE workbook and lesson pack has been created for the new PSHE / RSE and Health 2020 Statutory Guidance (specifically drug effects, addiction, law and substance abuse).
The lesson includes a detailed one-hour PowerPoint, various differentiated activities, clip task, information sheets and literacy tasks.
The workbook contains all of the information needed to learn about the topic in the first few pages, then the rest of the booklet is full of activities to complete.
The workbook is differentiated and great for recording progress in PSHE. It’s easy to print and editable (as it comes in a portrait-version ready to print PowerPoint as well as a PDF version) - so you can always amend it for your students. This could be left as cover (as appropriate to the class and cover teacher) as there’s nothing explicit on the relationships side of things and all of the terminology is carefully explained. No internet access needed.

This is a simple but thought-provoking board game to be played in pairs. Use a coin and move one place for tails and two for heads, that way more of the dilemmas will be discussed.
You will need to cut out the dilemma cards. For each card the player has to decide how they would act in a difficult friendship scenario. The first to reach the finish line has shown the qualities needed to be a genuinely good friend.
