Autism Awareness Assembly. An assembly all about ASD, what it is, some statistics and facts addressing misconceptions and celebrating the successes of famous people on the autistic spectrum. It lasts around 15-20 mins (inc clip). It includes animations, an option of two different 4 minute clips (one for KS3 and one for KS4/5), statistics, and a little humour. This is really easy to just pick up and use and is intended to help all students embrace and celebrate diversity. Fully editable too. An Anti-bullying assembly which follows the story of Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley from Harry Potter) and how he was the target of bullying as he grew up and how he dealt with this. The assembly doesn’t just focus on the obvious reasons why bullying is wrong, but also some less obvious reasons which students might not have thought of before, to create more of an impact. The second half of the assembly focuses on respect - looking at what respect means in practice before ending with some helpful takeaway tips. The assembly will last around 15-20 minutes if clip is watched (3 mins) and suggested questions are asked too. Everything is editable. This detailed 23 page PSHE / Citizenship workbook has been created for the new PSHE 2020 Statutory Guidance and focuses on prejudice and discrimination - in this case racism and the Black Lives Matter movement. It contains all of the information needed to learn about the topic in the first few pages, then the rest of the booklet is full of activities to complete. This completely free, PSHE, RSE, Health and Wellbeing audit for the new DfE Statutory 2020 Guidelines has been created as a project with EC Resources and PSHE Consultant and Hodder Education Resources creator, Brian Reeve-Hayes. A 25 minute Tutor Time session created especially for LGBT+ Month (Feb 2019). The session serves as an introduction to the LGBT+ / LGBTQAI community, breaking down the acronyms and investigating why it is still a term which it isn’t always easy to define. This is the first of six sessions to be used throughout LGBT+ month, each focusing on and exploring the culture and history of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I). The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task.
