Strengths and interests KS1 PSHE lesson. A one-hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 1, however, the activities are also suitable for use in Year 2, or even younger students in KS2 (Year 3). In this lesson, the children will learn about personal strengths, interests, and the importance of celebrating the things that make us all unique. The lesson includes a copy of Trilby Gizard, You’re a Terrible Lizard, a story of a young lizard’s journey to explore his individuality. The students will reflect on a set of teacher led comprehension questions, before completing activities linked to the text. The lesson includes a case study starter, a story with accompanying questions, a Venn diagram sorting tasks, a self-reflection activity, and a plenary task. Created to fit the new DfE and PSHE Association statutory 2020 /21 guidelines, the lesson includes a detailed PowerPoint, all editable with accompanying tasks and worksheets. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. The Russian Invasion of Ukraine - 1 hour lesson ( KS2 / KS3) A detailed, differentiated and editable 1 hour lesson all about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In this lesson, the students will learn about the history of Ukraine, and navigate the events that have led to the current conflict. Safer Internet Day 2023 - Life Online A 1-2-hour, all new PSHE online safety lesson suitable for KS2, or possibly younger students in KS3 (Year 7). The topic for this year is ‘Life Online’, so the lesson covers a variety of issues, including cyber-bullying, online-scams, identity theft and age-appropriate content. The students will identify the issues explore the best safety rules to use as well as why they need to use them. This is all new content (2023) and all editable. Fracking and the environment A detailed, differentiated and editable 1-2 hour lesson all about fracking and the government’s decision to lift, and then immediately reimpose a ban that had been in place since 2019. In this lesson, the students will learn how oil and gas are extracted from the Earth using both traditional mining and in the case of shale gas, fracking. We will investigate the reasons why fracking is a highly controversial tropic and discuss arguments for and against it. The article investigates whether this is really just a celebrity issue and examines recent cases that have affected normal people (non-celebrities), sometimes fatally.
