Exam practice question and peer assessment mark scheme for Citizenship GCSE 9-1 AQA 8 mark questions. This was created as part of a two hour lesson for Citizenship GCSE 9-1 with a focus on: 3.4.2 What are the powers of local and devolved government and how can citizens participate? The debate about ‘English votes for English laws’. Who can stand for election and how candidates are selected. Who can and cannot vote in elections and why; debates about the voting age. Issues relating to voter turnout, voter apathy and suggestions for increasing vote turnout at elections. The full lesson can be found here.

Edexcel GCSE Citizenship 9-1 spec content revision quiz, easy to use, great to dip into for plenaries and completely free. This could also be used with other exam boards as much of the same content is covered, but it was made for Edexcel specifically. Includes easy hand-out answer sheet so students can mark each other’s answers or their own. A KS2 PSHE lesson which serves as both an introduction to the concepts of diversity, discrimination and equality and also highlights how MACS charity (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support) helps children with visual impairments. The lesson lasts around 90 minutes and includes differentiated activities, creative tasks, clip tasks and a story as well as guidance to show how the lesson meets sections of the new PSHE draft curriculum from the DfE for 2020 and the Citizenship non-statutory KS2 guidance. The lesson is in the Zip File - the images have been uploaded so you can clearly see what the lesson includes. MACS is a charity for young people who were born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes, so the assemblies focus on the importance of valuing our vision and how we should treat everyone with respect and without prejudice.
