21 hours of fully resourced lessons (some in double-lesson packs) focusing on social justice, what this is and what it means today in practice - from the classroom to the workplace.
The packs also explore the fights and gains of marginalised groups, the progress that has been made in the UK towards inclusion, equality and diversity and the hurdles still to overcome. You don’t need to know anything about this beforehand - all of the information on each subject topic is included in detailed information sheets which go with the PowerPoints and activities.
All lesson packs are complete with a detailed PowerPoint, information booklets explaining each topic in detail, accompanying differentiated worksheets, clip links with questions, plenaries, clear LOs and starters. All are well differentiated to three levels throughout to enable clear evidence of progress for all students. Everything is editable. These lessons could be used as a PSHCE unit, to cover parts of both the Citizenship and PSHE 2020 Curriculum.

A fully-resourced, detailed and differentiated 1 hour - 90 min lesson which investigates the concept of cultural appropriation and why it can be offensive. Students will explore recent instances in the media of celebrities who have been accused of cultural appropriation and the origin of the term as well as its links to the concept of privilege.
This lesson is great for PSHE (investigating bigoted behaviour) or for Citizenship, or even as an interesting one off for RE. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning.

A fully-resourced lesson which serves as an introduction to ‘honour’ based violence and ‘honour’ killings. Students will explore whether it is true that most honour killings are down to interpretation of religious texts, or whether culture or misogyny is mostly responsible. They will learn about where victims can go for help and the form ‘honour’ based violence can take.
This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020-24 spiral curriculum (especially for a forced marriage unit) or for a Citizenship / RE human rights unit. The lesson is most suitable or KS4 / KS5 (but there is nothing unsuitable for KS3) and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own planning. A fully-resourced lesson which serves as an introduction to social justice. Students will explore the concept of social justice, its link to human rights and why it’s needed, before examining recent campaigns and the progress being made by the social justice movement. They will also explore objections to what some call ‘social justice warriors’ and whether social justice is backed up by religious ideas, by analysing quotes - the lesson has been created for RE, but would be useful as a Citizenship / interesting Drop Down Day session too.
A number of religions and religious quotes will be examined throughout the lesson, with the most detailed focus on Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Suitable for KS3 / KS4 and editable, so easy to adapt.
