Condom use contraception lesson - New 2024 PSHE lesson all about why condoms are such great contraceptives for both preventing pregnancies and STIs, as well as how to correctly put on a condom and use it successfully. This part has been created to spark your students’ interest in the origins of Britain as a multi-ethnic country. It introduces recent research on ‘Cheddar Man’, an individual discovered to be one of the first peoples of Britain, and of a group many would describe today as people of colour. In this part, students also cover how for centuries western academics grouped together completely unrelated cultures as ‘black’ and see that recent DNA discoveries have shown that there is more human genetic diversity in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa than there is in the entire rest of the world. Part 2) More of a traditional Black History session, looking at the origins of the month, back to its conception in America, the Civil Rights movement and including reading comprehension tasks and clips with differentiated questioning. This lesson covers vaccinations, blood and organ donation, stem cell research and personal hygiene. Students will investigate the importance of all of these factors for both preventing the spread of disease and treating illnesses in others.
