Privacy and unwanted touch - KS1 PSHE A collection of PSHE resources that have been created to cover the ‘Relationships’ strand of the PSHE Association’s Programme of Study for KS1. In particular, the resources in this bundle focus on keeping private parts private and the correct way to respond to an unsafe or unwanted touch. The 5-lesson unit includes the following: All about bodies (Year 1) This lesson introduces the correct terminology for private body parts and discusses what it means to keep our private parts private. My body belongs to me (Year 1) This lesson explores different kinds of physical contact including wanted and unwanted forms of touch.The students will be introduced to the swimwear unsafe touch safety rule and we will discuss the correct way to respond to an unsafe or unwanted touch. Asking for permission (Year 1) This lesson explores the concept of asking for permissions and the various scenarios where it is polite to do so. We will discuss consent in an age appropriate context (specifically asking permission before giving someone a hug or stroking a cat or dog.) Brilliant Bodies (Year 2 - Free Download) This health lesson explores the correct scientific terms for a variety of body parts, including private body parts (penis, testicles and vulva). We will also revisit safe and unsafe touch including the ‘swimwear’ safety rule. Secrets and surprised This lesson explores harmful secrets and happy surprises with a particular focus on unsafe touch and what to do if you ever feel pressure to keep something unsafe or upsetting a secret. Each lesson includes a variety of fun and creative activities, plus enough teaching materials to last at least an hour. The resources are also suitable for use in schools who have opted to follow the PSHE Association’s Thematic Model for KS1.
