One hour, fully resourced lesson which introduces the different traditional types of Islamic clothing for both men and women before exploring why some items provoke controversy. Students will take part in designing a range of clothing for an Islamic fashion show, that needs to please both a religiously conservative and liberal audience. A detailed and well differentiated lesson for Edexcel Citizenship GCSE 9-1 - ‘Living together in the UK’ (Theme A). This lesson focuses on the different rights British citizens are entitled to, the history of human rights and the responsibilities that go with them. It includes exam practice questions and homework too.
The lesson includes a detailed, 1 hour PowerPoint, information and source sheets, differentiated activity worksheets, differentiated challenge activities and clips tasks and information sheets for students to stick in their books. AQA RS Islam and Christianity revision - A3 Revision Knowledge Organiser for AQA RE Theme E - Crime and Punishment, with a focus on Islam and Christianity. This Knowledge Organiser is for Crime and Punishment, with dozens of quotes, meanings explained, areas for comparison, tasks to fill in and information to read and revise.
It can easily be printed out and given to students without even having to explain any of the terminology as all explanation is here for them. There are lots of quotes for students to study and remember, all highlighted in bold with exact Bible and Qur’anic references. It’s A3 size and would work great as a revision poster for a student’s wall at home.

One - two hour, detailed and fully resourced lesson which introduces the different religious opinions on abortion. Students will examine statements ad quotations from different religions and religious texts, then using their information sheets and completed clip tasks (all provided) they will complete a differentiated case study table to assess their learning. They will then complete a literacy focus task before taking part in a debate, informed by their learning throughout the lesson. Everything is editable too.

A fully-resourced lesson which serves as an introduction to social justice. Students will explore the concept of social justice, its link to human rights and why it’s needed, before examining recent campaigns and the progress being made by the social justice movement. They will also explore objections to what some call ‘social justice warriors’ and whether social justice is backed up by religious ideas, by analysing quotes - the lesson has been created for RE, but would be useful as a Citizenship / interesting Drop Down Day session too.
A number of religions and religious quotes will be examined throughout the lesson, with the most detailed focus on Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Suitable for KS3 / KS4 and editable, so easy to adapt.

A Medical Ethics Unit lasting 12 hours (one lesson is a double) that was created for Year 9 RE, but could easily be used for a capable Year 8 or none-GCSE KS4 group.
