Staying safe KS1/Year 1/Autumn 1 PSHE lesson. Created with a view to being delivered in the first half-term of the year, this hour-long, fully resourced lesson is a general introduction to personal safety.
Whilst the lesson has been created with Year 1 in mind, the PowerPoint and activities may also be suitable for adjacent year groups.
In this lesson, the children will learn how to stay safe in different situations. During the lesson we will touch on sun safety, safe strangers, trusted adults, and general rules for staying safe in the home or when you are out and about.
We will read ‘How do Dinosaurs Stay Safe?’ by Jane Yolen, before completing a carousel of activities. The lesson includes a PSHE-themed starter game of Eye Spy, a safe strangers partner talk activity, a story with accompanying comprehension questions, a carousel of activities, and a plenary task.

Carbon Footprints PSHE lesson.
A detailed, differentiated and editable 1 hour lesson all about reducing your carbon footprint. In this lesson, the students will learn about the activities and lifestyle choices that contribute to a person’s carbon footprint.
We will discuss strategies for reducing our carbon emissions and reflect on the changes we could make to lower our footprints.
The lesson is ideally suited to students in UKS2 or perhaps as an introductory lesson for students in KS3 (Year 7).

An hour-long 2024, KS3 (or could be used with KS4) lesson with a focus on eating disorders, misconceptions and links to mental health. The lesson is sensitively planned, so gives no information on how sufferers perpetuate their disorders, but clearly signposts how friends can alert authorities (teachers/guardians) appropriately if they are concerned and where we can go for further information. The lesson also shares NHS advice on how we can support people suffering from eating disorders, as well as why EDs often affect people in their teenage years. In this lesson, the children will learn about money, specifically, how we pay for things we want and need. The children will be introduced to a small selection of coins (1p, 2p, 5p and 10p) and will carry out a set of activities to develop skills in coin recognition and finding the total value.
The lesson includes a sing-along starter (to ensure a swift start to the lesson), a video-based story with associated number problems, an adult-led focus task, independent activities to be carried out during continuous provision, and a plenary task.

Being a Safe Pedestrian - Road Safety EYFS PSHE lesson.
