E-Safety - making safe, reliable choices online KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will discuss the positive and negative ways that people can use the internet and reflect on the reliability of the information online. We will discuss the importance of double-checking information and looking carefully at our search results when browsing. The students will also be told how to spot adverts in search engine results and on shopping platforms.

Career routes and qualification KS2 PSHE Lesson. A one hour-long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS2. This lesson has been created for Year 3, however, the resource is suitable for use across KS2. In this lesson, the students will explore the different career routes that are available to them including college, university and apprenticeships. We will look at Secondary, Further and Higher Education, and discuss examples of the courses that people can study at each level (GCSEs, A-levels, degrees, vocational courses etc). Boys’ Puberty - What Changes Can We Expect?
A brand new one-two hour lesson suitable for upper KS2 / KS3 (Year 7), all about puberty and the changes boys typically go through. Taken from the EC Publishing Complete Primary Package for 2024 (find it on the EC Publishing website).
The pack introduces the physical and emotional changes that boys usually encounter, although it emphasises the fact that what’s normal for one person can be different to the next.

Caffeine and Energy Drinks Lesson
This 1-hour, fully resourced PSHE lesson is suitable for upper KS2 or lower KS3. It investigates the risks associated with consuming caffeinated energy drinks as well as looking at the harmful effects of consuming too many ‘free sugars’.
The students will begin the lesson by reflecting on the events that swept the nation when the Prime product line was first released. We will discuss the reasons why some schools felt the need to ban the drink before delving into the health risks associated with excessive caffeine consumption.
The students will look at the caffeine and sugar content of a variety of drinks, reflecting on their safety, suitability for young people, as well as the moral question of whether it is right to market these products to kids and young people.

2 HOURS - New 2024 PSHE lesson all about Britain’s homelessness problem. Students will investigate the main causes of homelessness in the UK, hear the issues from people in their own words and discover some unusual solutions to the issue. They will also explore why the numbers of homeless people are increasing in recent years, the hurdles people face to in trying find accommodation and how many find themselves homeless to begin with.
Students will complete source analysis tasks, literacy and debate tasks, creative tasks, clip tasks and much more. Created for KS4 but nothing unsuitable for KS3. Includes lesson plan and full scheme of work that this lesson is taken from.
This lesson is taken from the new EC Publishing Complete PSHE Package which can be found at the EC Publishing website. Everything is editable and easy to pick up and run with and includes future DfE updates too.

Puberty, Periods, and the Human Life Cycle: Understanding girls’ puberty and how the changes we experience fit into the greater human life cycle.
This one-hour lesson is designed for students in UKS2 (specifically for Year 6, though it is also suitable for Year 7). The lesson recaps students’ previous knowledge regarding the changes girls commonly experience during puberty (Year 4/5) before providing a wider context of how adolescence and puberty fit into the greater human life cycle.
Created with progression in mind, the students will learn about the menstrual cycle in greater detail than previously covered, before embarking on a scavenger hunt to discover a range of different period products, how they are used, and some pros and cons for each. While this lesson references pregnancy and the fact that mammals must mate to reproduce (Year 5 science curriculum), it does not discuss or reference sexual intercourse.

TWO HOURS - Stalking, harassment and the law PSHE lesson. A new 2024 lesson focusing on what stalking and harassment are, how they are legally defined, how we know if we are being stalked or harassed and what can legally be done about it.
Students will investigate real life cases of stalking that have ended up with the perpetrators serving custodial sentences. They will analyse whether UK law is tough enough in these cases, or whether it needs re-evaluating. Students will explore the effects on the victims lives, how they have been impacted in the short and long-term and the different ways a person may be stalked or harassed - so students are able to recognise this. Bullying, Gaming, and Group Chats: Why Does It Matter How I Behave Online?
In this 2024 lesson, students will reflect on the importance of treating others with kindness and respect whenever they interact with friends and classmates online. According to OFCOM’s latest research, 55% of 8- to 17-year-olds regularly use online games and apps like WhatsApp to chat with or hang out with friends. However, with the rise of this kind of communication, we are also seeing increasing cases of online bullying in these forums. Sometimes this is a spillover from bullying that takes place in real life, but it can also occur between friends who typically behave respectfully in person. Could also be used in Tutor Time for LKS3 or during anti-bullying week.
We will discuss the importance of treating our online friends with the same level of kindness and respect that we would expect to receive ourselves, both online and in real life. We will also highlight scenarios where children can unknowingly bully their friends online, by taking teasing too far or excluding friends in online gaming situations. Finally, we will discuss strategies for managing online relationships and, where necessary, setting boundaries with friends who behave badly online.
The lesson includes a starter activity that serves as a recap of the previous lesson, a video clip with reflection questions, a set of case studies to discuss, and a plenary task. Everything is editable should you wish to make amendments, but it is also fully resourced and ready to use if you want to hit the ground running. The lesson is best suited to students in Year 6 (UKS2) or possibly Year 7 (LKS3).
