The lesson is divided into two parts, one focuses on personal statements for job applications, the other on personal statements for university or colleges. Students will firstly investigate what personal statements are, why they are needed and how potential employers (and also university tutors) look through them, before studying excellent and poor examples in detail, then writing their own in three stages using the guidance given. This resource pack includes a detailed, two hour long PowerPoint with accompanying worksheets, well differentiated activities, literacy focus tasks, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and information sheets. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated activities. It is useful for PSHE, Careers or Tutor Time.
