This is a huge bundle - 100+ hours of KS3 History. These lessons are a selection of our very best lessons and units originally created for Years 7 , 8 and 9. The pack is divided into topics as well as a ‘Miscellaneous’ album (the final folder contains cover work and end of year fun materials). There is far, far more content than in the TES previews. Every lesson is differentiated to at least three levels of challenge, has source analysis tasks, peer or mini-assessments, clip tasks with differentiated questioning and essay or literacy focus tasks for GCSE skills prep. An hour long fully resourced and well differentiated lesson all about the history of the British Monarchy, how it eventually became a constitutional one, how this happened and the key events along the way. Used as a high ability year 8 lesson but easily edited to suit any group. All activities have three challenge levels of tasks. The pack includes a Powerpoint, clips, worksheets and a timeline of monarchy and British government through the ages, which could be used as a display or part of a chronology activity.

Geography lesson all about carbon emissions, why levels are rising and how these are contributing to the Greenhouse Effect. The lesson investigates how carbon is released, when levels started to rise as well the effect this is already starting to have on the Earth’s temperature. The lesson is adaptable, easy to follow and fully differentiated. This resource pack includes an hour long PowerPoint with accompanying worksheets, well differentiated activities, clip tasks with three-way differentiated questions and information sheets. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. The pack includes a PowerPoint full of information about the history behind Valentine’s Day, why the festival is celebrated today in the way it is and how the Romans and Christian Church changed the mid-February celebrations to suit their own objectives. The pack also includes a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and a creative SMSC activity - making historically accurate Valentine’s Day cards. A fun and creative history project lesson for students in the last week of term. Could be used for activities week in Humanities or just as a reward lesson the last time you see your class for the summer. Very easy to set up - you will just need a few balloons, string, sellotape, felt tips and a bag of old clothes. The students work in small groups to research and recreate a famous historical figure (info sheets and clip tasks included - all instructions on Powerpoint). The lesson can last as long as you want it to, and I gave prizes of sweets at the end for the best one - but that’s optional! My students really enjoyed it and we took pictures at the end for the school website. Hopefully yours will love it too. I’m going to be adding lots more free History lessons over the coming months. A detailed and well differentiated introduction to terrorism - a 90 min - 2 hour, editable history lesson all about the different types of terrorism. This lesson serves as the introduction lesson to our Terrorism unit (which is suitable for upper KS3). Students will investigate the different types of terrorism and explore what makes someone a terrorist as well as different ideas and opinions about terrorism from a historical perspective. This lesson (with PowerPoint, clips and worksheets) was created for Year 9 (but could be used with a different KS3 group) and could also be useful as a KS3 Citizenship lesson. A differentiated and editable history lesson all about The Stolen Generations, what it was like for native Australians at the time of British rule and whether or not an apology from a later Prime Minister is really ever going to be enough to make up for the travesties forced onto the Aboriginal people. This lesson lasts around 50 minutes (or an hour and a half if you manage to book laptops as suggested) and is very easy to just pick up and use.
