A practical heavy lesson where students go through: Reactions of metals with acids Reactions of carbonates Thermal decomposition Ammonium nitrate and water Combustion reactions A very enjoyable lesson which fully engages students and gets them thinking.

KS3 lesson introducing the idea of electrical power and cost. Will most likely last around 45 minutes. Can be accompanied with a worsheet to last the full hour if needed.

A full lesson taking students through the structure of the atom, before understanding how the structure of the atom was determined. Students also complete an evaluative exercise where they compare and contrast historical atomic structures, before determining their advantages and disadvantages. Covers all learning outcomes for atomic structure for the AQA Chemistry Trilogy Syllabus. A fun and engaging lesson for what can be a dry topic.

Whole lesson on covalent bonding. The only other required resource is a template for students to make their own covalent molecule’s dot-cross diagrams. These can be downloaded for free here. A enjoyable lesson which breaks down a topic which students often find to be tricky.

An introduction to Endothermic and Exothermic reactions aimed at KS4, taking students through a practical activity, before students attempt to tackle energy profiles.

Introductory lesson for KS4 animal and plant cells. The lesson covers levels of organization, as well as animal and plant cell structures, covering organelles and functions. This lesson will most likely last around 40 minutes, but can easily be accompanied by extra exam questions. This lesson has a high student focus, with many different opportunities for reflection.

KS4 Microscopes overview lasting 2 to 3 lessons. This presentation takes students through the parts of a light microscope, to using light microscopes, including the AQA required practical. Magnification equations are demonstrated, and there is an independent research activity to investigate the differences between light microscopes, compared with electron microscopes.

A three hour lesson taking students through specialized cells, differentiation, stem cells, and the uses of stem cells. The lesson contains individual activities, summaries of content, as well as instructions for plant cutting practicals, and a research task structured for the benefits and disadvantages of stem cells. This lesson can easily be broken down over several lessons with contrasting activities to promote engagement.

Lesson for KS3 properties of metals and non-metals, as well as an introduction to the periodic table. Activities included - you will need to google a template of the periodic table for the colour coding activity.
