I am an English Teacher at an SEMH secondary school. My resources cover a wide range of key stages and abilities to cater for the complex needs of my students. Often my resources will be designed to appeal to older students with a lower ability content, but they still work well for younger students also. I have a big interest in Phonics, low ability resources with a high interest level for older students, creating useful displays and making stickers to aid in my marking.

I had a yearlong salaried placement in Secondary English at my home school, including a half term placement at a different secondary school within my federation. I was graded Outstanding for my teacher training year. I was offered a permanent role at my home school for my NQT year before the end of my first term of training. My placement school also offered to create a permanent role for me, but I chose to continue my employment at my home school. These are the standards summaries and appendices lists for each Teaching Standard that I created for my standards/evidence folder during my training which you may find useful for reference purposes, or to give you an idea on how you might assemble your own folder. I have also included some guidance on how I went about putting my folder together, and how I organised it. Additionally, I have included an acronyms/abbreviation list. I use these throughout my summaries and appendices, and whilst some are very obvious, some may not be. There are eight summaries, eight appendices lists, one guidance sheet and one acronyms sheet.

These are the essay based assignments that I completed during my SCITT year, which you may find useful for reference purposes. If the topics I covered are relevant to you, you will find my references particularly useful, as these are a collection of pertinent educational research materials, which I found extremely helpful during my training year; not only in completing my assignments, but I found they did inform my teaching practise. Where PDFs are available for the research I have referenced, I have included them here, so you will have a bank of educational research ready to go. Where PDFs were not available, web links at the time of writing have been included. Assignment A Reflect on how your teaching skills and understanding of secondary education have developed as a result of your second school placement. Assignment B With reference to educational research and your own teaching, investigate the factors that support all students in making ‘outstanding’ progress. With reference to: • Differentiation, testing and interventions including relevant educational research. • Effective questioning/Think Pair Share including relevant educational research. • Assessment including relevant educational research. • Marking and Feedback including relevant educational research.

I have developed a range of time-saving labels for marking and setting correction tasks. I regularly use these myself in my marking, and find them invaluable. They are clear, and provide a cohesive look across my marking, which is always commented on favourably in book looks or work scrutinies by SLT or external agencies. They are designed to fit Avery labels J8160 21 per page, or similar. The current list of SPaG labels available and all included in this bundle are: Remember to use capital letters for proper nouns.
