A simple maths game, designed in Powerpoint that is ideal for sharing via the interactive whiteboard as a whole class maths starter. Children are presented with a ten-frame showing different amounts of farm animals from 1 to 10 and have to click the matching numeral on the number line. Later on, this progresses to asking the children how many more animals would be needed to make 10. This activity reinforces children’s knowledge of number bonds using the ten-frames. This Powerpoint includes ten-frames showing various farm animals from 1 to 10 and is easily editable. The ten-frames can be printed out and laminated as an independent follow up activity that can be used in a variety of different ways.

A simple interactive maths game, designed in Powerpoint to support children’s understanding of number bonds to 10, with the theme of Pancake Day. Children count the number of pancakes presented in each ten-frame and click the matching numeral on the number track. This IWB game activity works well as part of whole class teaching and learning. Next, children are asked to say how many more pancakes would make 10 altogether. Children/teacher/TA click on the matching numeral on the number track to show how many more pancakes would make 10. The missing pancakes float in to the ten-frame and the number bond card is shown (for example, 3 and 7 make 10). All number bonds to 10 are presented in the slides. This resources also includes ten-frame templates and number cards from 1 to 10 showing different arrangements of pancakes from 1 to 10. This resource is ideal for use on the interactive whiteboard to develop perceptual and conceptual subisiting skills and for varied maths continuous learning provision within the classroom with an Easter theme. This resource presents varied assortments of Easter Eggs on each slide. Children view each slide and see if they can identify 5 eggs. How many different ways can they see five? For example, 1 red and 4 blue eggs makes 5; 2 yellow and 3 red eggs makes 5 etc… The subitising Easter Egg cards can be printed off and laminated for various games in continuous provision and small group activities. Game 1 - Find all the cards showing 5 eggs Game 2 - Find two cards that make 5 altogether Game 3 - Pick a card. Identify the amount and add one more egg to each card shown Game 4 - Roll a die.
