Children subitize the the number of Easter Eggs presented in each of the tens frame. Children click on the matching symbolic number card from 1 to 20. This IWB maths game is ideal for developing early number skills and thinking about the composition of number from eleven to twenty. For example, 10 and 2 more makes 12. This game will work well as part of whole class teaching and learning or as part of a small adult led guided Maths group session. A simple number ordering game, designed in Powerpoint that is ideal for sharing on the interactive whiteboard as part of whole class teaching and learning with an Easter theme. Children are presented with 3 numeral cards and have to determine whether the cards are correctly or incorrectly ordered. Children / teacher can click ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to show whether they think the three numerals are ordered correctly. Nine different numeral sequences are included. Please note that, the slides are easily editable to include sequences of 3 numerals beyond 10 if you wish to add greater challenge. The Powerpoint also includes smaller numeral ordering cards (x7) ideal for supporting children with special educational needs.

A simple interactive white board activity/maths game that is great for modelling counting back from 10, The slides are fully interactive and the activity links well with White Rose Spring term planning session 6 “Counting back from 10 - Ten in a Bed”. Children are presented with a variety of different cartoon animals in the bed and explore what would be one less by counting back from 10 using the Ten in a Bed nursery rhyme. Following this different numbers of animals are presented in the bed. Children need to count the number of animals in the bed and click on the matching digit card. Larger images of all the animals included in the Powerpoint are included at the end of the slides. These can be made into puppets which can be printed off and laminated for exploration in whole class provision or works well as a small group activity. Children can use their puppets to show how many animals are in the bed and practice counting back from 10.

A simple interactive maths game, designed in Powerpoint to support the development of subitizing skills in EYFS. Ideal for sharing on the interactive whiteboard as part of whole class teaching and learning. Great as a mental warm up / starter activity. Children are presented with 1 to 5 hearts in a variety of different arrangements. Children are encouraged to subitize (instantly say the number of hearts without counting) and click on the matching number. Fifteen different arrangments are shared in the slides. At the end of the slides 12 smaller flash cards showing different arrangements for 5 are shown to explore different ways of arranging the hearts. This leads to an exploratory activity during independent learning where children can investigate all the different ways of arranging 5 chocolate hearts in a box with nine spaces.

As a follow up activity children can make their own play-dough pancakes and arrange their pancakes in different ways using the play-dough boards. This also works well as a small group follow up activity - For example, by asking the children “Can you make me (x amount) of pancakes with the play-dough?” “Show me (x amount) of pancakes.” Ideal for assessing ELGs in a fun way.
