This resource aligns well with WhiteRose Maths Units for EYFS and Yr1 although is not endorsed by WRM. As well as supporting early number recognition skills this game strengthens compositional knowledge of amounts within 10. This IWB Maths resource can work well as part of whole class teaching, small guided group work and or 1-1 adult-led teaching and learning. In addition to using this resource on the IWB, a selection of slides could be printed off and used during continuous learning provision. This may provide great opportunities for further number exploration of composition of ten. Children can be invited to place counters/cubes to represent varying numbers of people on the bus. For example, five people upstairs and two downstairs equals 7 OR four people upstairs and three people downstairs also equals 7.
