A set of cockpit controls for use in an airport/aeroplane role play, to support Reading and Mathematical development through purposeful play. Includes speed controls (numbers to 10), position display, sentences to read (e.g. turn on the seatbelt sign), cockpit photograph, world map and flight speed dial.
A set of 10 posters to display how many children can play in each area, from 1-10.
Each poster has a photograph featuring the corresponding number of children, to support early number recognition development.
An interactive advent calendar for a bit of fun during the festive period. Children can click on a number from 1-25 for a silly number joke each day from a Numberblock. Great for number recognition during Maths starter activities, or whenever you find yourself with a spare five minutes and a classful of children!
A visual playdough recipe and separate ingredients sheet with simple photographs for each step. Designed to enable children to follow the recipe independently.
Two classroom timers (2 minutes and 5 minutes). Children must complete an activity before the jar fills up with marbles. Great for tidy up time in the Early Years, other simple classroom activities or for building an understanding of time.
A selection of 10 different high quality photographs representing the season of Spring. We laminate these, cut them up and challenge children to complete the puzzles as an independent activity. It’s a great way of assessing number recognition and ordering and sequencing numerals to 10, with use of maths for a purpose.
A selection of 5 images designed for actual size Numicon pieces. Children match Numicon pieces to the pictures (A4 size) or experiment further with numbers by choosing alternative combinations of filling in each picture.
An optional recording sheet is also included within the download to encourage pupils to record which shapes they used and to add them together to find the total. These are great for differentiated learning - LA pupils can focus on matching shapes while HA pupils can extend to number bonds and addition.
The students in my Reception class loved these sheets and would often choose to write down the numeral next to each shape that they used on the original picture sheet, and then count all holes to find the total, recording in whichever way they chose. There are lots of possibilities to explore and secure number sense.
One more, one less posters: Number displays to 10.
Each poster is on its own A4 page and features a representation of the number in three different ways - on fingers, as Numicon number shapes and as objects - as well as 1 more and 1 less than that number displayed in the same way. There is also a blank poster for children to complete themselves in continuous provision or as a home learning task.
‘Number of the Week’ posters 1-10.

A selection of 8 different worksheets, designed to consolidate children’s understanding of partitioning and adding numbers, using the part-whole models as recommended by White Rose Maths.
4 worksheets focus on splitting the wholes into parts;
4 worksheets focus on adding parts to find the whole.
The worksheets use numerals, Numicon shapes, dot patterns and cubes to support children to use a range of resources.
Supports adding and partitioning numbers to 10.
A large selection of price tags for use in a role play shop or Maths lesson.
The price tags feature different coin combinations for 1p - 20p, allowing teachers to differentiate their resources and to support mathematical progress. We use these both for role play shops and as a matching game when introducing money - separating the price labels from the coins and asking children to match the totals.
Includes:
Simple price tags 1p - 10p featuring only 1p coins
Differentiated price tags 1p - 10p featuring two different coin combinations, using both 1p coins and 2p coins
Differentiated price tags 5p - 20p featuring 5p coins, 10p coins and 20p coin
Blank price tag templates for children to create their own
The download includes a ready-to-print PDF file as well as an editable Word document, should you wish to create your own combinations of coins and price tags with the templates.
A bank of ‘Next Steps’ statements for EYFS, based on the Early Learning Goals and age band statements from Development Matters. Useful for adding the next steps to observations, as well as for setting targets for parents’ evenings or reports. A PDF document with over 20 ideas for outdoor activities, in line with the Forest School approach to education (I have received formal training in the Forest School approach). Detailed photographs are included to support the explanation of each activity. Can also be used for staff training or INSET sessions, or simply to gather ideas to improve outdoor practice and provision.
A Powerpoint presentation featuring over 25 different ‘morning task’ activities. We’ve found this really useful to display first thing in the morning – to keep children busy learning as they sit on the carpet during Register time. Children study the scenes independently before we come together and discuss them as a whole class. Also great for those times when you find yourself with a spare five minutes and a classful of children! A selection of activities is provided, including:
*Reading Tasks – children read words and find the corresponding objects hidden in pictures
*Number Hunts – children find hidden numbers in a variety of scenes (1-10/1-20)
*Tricky Word Wordsearches – children hunt for the tricky words hidden (always left > right)
*2D Shape Hunts – children search for examples of 2D shapes in pictures
*Spot the Difference – great for Listening and Attention, Communication and Language skills
Some scenes are more challenging than others, and words in the Reading tasks are fully editable so you can make them more complex as children’s reading skills progress.
A Powerpoint presentation that comprises ten different scenes - each with the numbers 1-10 hidden within them. This has proved really successful within my Early Years setting to develop and secure numeral recognition. We often use it as a Maths Starter activity and it has engaged pupils very well. Some scenes are more challenging than others, though it consistently surprises me how much better children are at spotting the numbers than adults!
There are lots of different ways of using this resource to ensure appropriate pitch and challenge:
We write the numbers 1-10 on our class board and tick them off as we find them in the pictures. Ensuring that we search for the numbers in order has really helped to secure number sense.
We ask children to describe where the numbers are, supporting them to use positional language and to develop their speaking and listening skills, e.g. “The number 10 is next to/on top of/underneath the table”.
Children can write the numbers on their own whiteboards and work on the activity individually - this way they also get practice of writing the numerals.
We provide a checklist for children to tick them off themselves as we search for the numbers together as a whole class, supporting children to ‘match’ the numbers as we develop early number sense.
We have often found that children are inspired to go and create their own ‘number hunt’ pictures independently after our Maths sessions, which then provides lots of evidence for our Learning Journeys and ensures that learning is embedded.
A 1-20 Number Hunt activity is also available for purchase in my store.

5 Little Ducks
5 Little Monkeys
5 Fat Sausages
5 Little Speckled Frogs
10 Green Bottles
We have printed these out, laminated them and turned each number rhyme into a book. We leave them in our continuous provision with some props, to support children to act out the rhymes independently.
Supports mathematical development and early number sense.
