A fully differentiated and resourced lesson that focuses on Act 3 Scene 1, Act 3 Scene 2 and Act 3 Scene 3 of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as we see how the news of Tybalt’s death and Romeo’s subsequent banishment impact on both Romeo and Juliet. We look at Benvolio’s description of the events that occured previously and why Shakespeare uses retelling events as a dramatic tool, before moving on to Juliet and then Romeo receiving the news that affects them so much. Ideal preparation for students preparing for Literature exams and easily adaptable for younger students as well.
