Power and Conflict 2025 revision for English Literature Paper 2 revision lesson on language and how the writer and speaker convey their ideas within two anthology poems (The Emigree and Remains) via devices/techniques. We explore both poems and the language used in each to help us understand the key themes/messages of the poems and we explain how language helps readers to develop interpretations, helping students to prepare for the exam in the 2025 summer.

Much Ado About Nothing William Shakespeare genre lesson that explores Don John, his use of language and how the use of genre in the play can impact ton an audience, as well as how a villain can change how an audience perceives a play. Israel / Palestine reading comprehension pack. A detailed 2 page article that provides an overview of the history of the conflicts between Israeli and Palestinian forces and includes differentiated comprehension questions that focus on reading skills and language and structure analysis.
It can be used in form time as part of literacy focus, or in an English lesson for KS3/4 GCSE comprehension training. It is interesting, useful, very easy to use and good way to combine History, Citizenship and English.
English transition lesson for new Year 7 students that explores autobiographies and a specific extract from the autobiographer of footballer and pundit Ian Wright. We explore the key elements of an autobiography and evaluate how Wright uses these in an extract from his book.
This lesson explores autobiographies and what an autobiography is, as part of a unit on the self and writing first person narratives. Ideal for new KS3 students starting at secondary school and can be used to build up to other units on writing and reading.
