Resources to plan a French Jobs and Careers, Occupations or World of Work (Les Emplois / Le Travail) unit. This BUNDLE contains a 112-slide interactive presentation (with teaching points, vocabulary, interactive review games, and quiz), flashcards, worksheets, puzzles, fun printable games and activities, to teach the names of 39 jobs, linked sentences and phrases, such as how to talk about what jobs people have and what jobs you would like to do in the future. This BUNDLE includes these 3 packs, which can be purchased separately if you prefer: French Jobs Worksheets and Puzzles French Jobs Presentation and Activities French Jobs Games and Activities PRESENTATION AND FLASHCARDS: In addition to introducing key vocabulary and phrases, this presentation includes activities such as: Sentence translation activities 3 short reading comprehensions 5 rounds of an interactive Hexagons Game (where teams compete to translate topic vocabulary and phrases and make a path through the grid) 10-rounds of an interactive Hangman Spelling Game, where teams compete to discover and correctly spell French words linked to the topic 20-round multiple-choice translation quiz Please note that almost all the text in the PowerPoint is editable, however the other content of the slides is not. Many slides in the original PowerPoint version feature answers that appear when you click, for students to respond. An additional PDF version is included. While the PDF version does not retain the ability for teachers to reveal answers by clicking, it will still help you introduce and review this topic if you do not have PowerPoint where you work. Please note that the Hexagons and Hangman games game are not compatible with PDF and are therefore omitted from that version. The multiple-choice quiz is included in the PDF, however it is not interactive in this version. Also within the Zip file is a PDF of flash cards for a core range of 21 jobs (masculine and feminine versions) with two on each page. WORKSHEETS AND PUZZLES: Vocabulary pages: There’s a word mat (over 2 pages) of French words with images for a core range of 21 jobs, together with a one-page list of these 21 jobs, and an expanded list with an additional 18 jobs. French job names are given for masculine and feminine versions where applicable. There’s also a table of key questions and sentences. These pages can also be used as prompts for classroom speaking activities. Please note that these vocabulary pages are also contained in my Les Métiers Games and Activities pack. 7 worksheets, all differentiated two ways using a star system. The one-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students. Includes jumbled words, translation tasks, fill the blanks tasks and a short reading comprehension. 3 puzzles - There’s a grid puzzle, word hunt puzzle and hidden word puzzle. The first two puzzles are differentiated, with the first letter given for each word in the word hunt puzzle and some letters already entered into the easier grid puzzle. Full answer keys GAMES AND ACTIVITIES: Sentences Board Game: 2 different game boards, where students say aloud in French the translations of the sentences they land on. Board 1 features only the core 21 jobs; board 2 features the expanded range. Print and laminate boards for repeated use. Answer keys included. “J’ai…Qui a…?” Loop Game: A speaking game for groups or the whole class. Print and laminate for repeated use. The 21 cards (featuring the smaller list of jobs) form a continuous loop so it doesn’t matter which one you start with. Serpents et Echelles Game: Print and laminate for repeated use. Students say aloud the jobs in French when they land on them. Includes jobs from the expanded list. “Quel est votre travail?” Active Oral Game: Card sets included with formal “votre” and informal “ton”. Print and laminate the cards you want to use. 36 cards in the set. Students have one card each and must move around the room, asking “Quel est votre travail?”, aiming to meet the person with the matching store card. Students must reply in French, using the image on their card. Mime Game: A team game, where students mime jobs to make their team mates guess correctly in French. Joyeux Noël! Here are resources to plan a fun Christmas in French unit (Noël en Français). This BUNDLE contains a 100-slide interactive PPT PowerPoint slide lesson presentation (with teaching points, vocabulary, and interactive review games), flashcards, worksheets, puzzles, fun printable games and activities, to teach and review vocabulary 30 key Christmas terms and key French Christmas and New Year greetings. The cards feature letters that they will rearrange at the end to spell a short French word. Answers included. School Plan Listening Game (Christmas Edition): Students are issued with a blank school plan and listen to the teacher calling out the location of Christmas items, which they must draw correctly onto the plan. WORKSHEETS: 10 worksheets (with answer keys), all in both 12 AND 24-hour versions, and all differentiated at least two ways using a star system. The 1-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students and almost all of these focus on quarter hour intervals. Many of the 2-star worksheets are in five minute intervals. For Worksheet 4, the 1-star version is in five minute intervals and the 2-star is to the nearest minute, to provide variety and extra challenge. The two “À quelle heure…?” worksheets (Les Activités / Le Transport) are differentiated 3 ways. PUZZLES: There’s an airport puzzle, hidden word puzzle, and maze. The airport puzzle is differentiated; the other two are not. The maze also does not have a 24h version.   FRENCH TELLING THE TIME PRINTABLE GAMES:   Four in a Row: There are 4 boards: word version and digital ones for both the 12 and 24-hour clocks. Print and laminate the ones you want for repeated use with dry-wipe markers. Enlarge if using with larger groups. First to get four in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - wins. The 36 cards form a continuous loop so it doesn’t matter which one you start with. There are 3 versions – the first has an analog clock, the second has a digital clock, while the third version features French 24-hour time. Active Oral Game: Ideal for the whole class. Print and laminate the cards. Students walk around the room, asking and answering what time it is in French, using the time printed on their cards. The first pair to find the matching cards wins. There are 2 versions: an analog clock version for 12-hour time and a digital one you can use for 24-hour time. Serpents et Echelles Board Game: Print and laminate the board. It works like normal Chutes and Ladders / Snakes and Ladders, only with students calling out French words when they land on them. Answer key included. Sentences Board Game: Fun for oral practice. Board 1 is a simpler, 12-hour digital version, just in quarter hour intervals. Board 2 is for analog 12-hour time in 5 minute intervals and board 3 is for 24-hour time. Print and laminate. Instructions on board. Answer key included. Square Jigsaw: Laminate and cut the 16 puzzle pieces or have students cut up the black and white version. For an extra challenge, the letters on the outside edge of the puzzle form a related sentence. 2 versions, one for 12-hour time and one for 24-hour time. Students match analog clocks or digital times with French word version of time. Counter Throw Time Target Game: Combines math and French! Students throw a counter onto target each round and add elapsed time to their card in a race to finish a 10-step journey in the shortest time. They must read aloud their new time in French at each stage. Black and white target included.
