I have been a languages teacher for 18 years and a Head of Department for 12. I am passionate about language learning and creating resources has always been a very enjoyable part of my job. When I design a resource my aim is to ensure that its structure provides a step-by-step progression that enables children to learn but above all to enjoy their learning.

Powerpoint presention (38 slides) with printable PDF work booklet (16 pages) is aimed at practising the general vocabulary as stated in the AQA GCSE Spanish specification; this includes: *comparisons, conjunctions, connectives, prepositions, negatives, important verbs, asking questions, greetings and exclamations , opinions, expressions of time, location and distance, weights and measures, weather, access, correctness, materials. * Students will be able to assess and review their knowledge through simple activities and use the time saving work booklet to record their answers; this resource will require a series of lessons and/or would be ideal for revision classes. This resource aimed at Heads of Department/ faculty, contains 2 documents that can be used as specific and personalised interventions within your area. The Agreement Sheet provides a more holistic support, helping students to identify their skills/ areas for improvement and encouraging them to take responsiblity for their own learning. It is MFL specific but can easily be adapted for other subject areas The Individual Report helps monitor attitudes and learning in the classroom for 4 weeks with a clear point system. This document applies to all subjects and can be adapted. Both these strategies can be implemented in conjunction with whole school systems and are very effective to generate more positive attitude particularly if you can involve learning mentors within your school.
