2.3.4 Legal controls over employment issues. Included: PPT (with bell ringer, starter, main activity & exam questions included). This lesson is designed around the iGCSE Business Studies curriculum (Cambridge) however could easily be used for other exam boards. This lesson focuses on Laissez-faire, autocratic, and democratic leadership styles. There is a printable starter and main activity included. Included: PPT (with bell ringer & plenary included) Starter Main Activity *Because of copyright issues I have not included examples of real world ‘leaders’ however I would recommend doing so to contextualize the issue for students.
2.2.1 Organisational Charts

2.2.1 Organisational Charts

PowerPoint (with bell ringer, starter, & plenary). separate worksheet for main activity included. This is quite an ‘active’ lesson and involves students moving around the school to interview members of staff. It could be tailored differently but I’ve found students in the past enjoy it if you can add a competition element to it (who can accurately draw the schools organisational chart first). *Ideally you need to print off a few extra sheets to complete the first activity. However, these points could be discussed (teacher led) as appose to students moving around the room, if this isn’t possible.

2.2.4 Trade Unions

This lesson is focused around what a Trade Union is, alongside the benefits and limitations for the employee and the employer. This lesson is best completed on a computer, however if you have five minutes to print some quick articles about Trade Unions it could easily be completed in the classroom. The aim of the lesson is for students to create their own research/writing on Unionism and then to record it and print a character with a QR code (which could be presented in a subsequent lesson. I have added notes onto some of the slides also for extra clarity. Included: PPT (with bell ringer, starter, main activity and plenary questions) Printable bell ringer
