For teachers following my SoW, this is for week 29 after the completion of Component 1.
It has two presentations, one is 45 slides and covers culture and social barriers and ways to overcome those as per PSA Task 3, with applied examples. The second is 13 slides and covers Language Barriers. There is guidance and options for students note taking which will be a source of reference in the PSA.
Students will be expected to know a range of potential barriers but the focus is on cultural, social and language in the spec below and be able to recognise which barrier(s)apply and the most suitable ways to overcome these. Throughout there is reference to different services from A2.
Homework is set as the case studies they do not cover in the lesson so they have the full range from the spec.

lack of awareness, differing cultural beliefs, social stigma, fear of loss of independence

For teachers following my C3 SoW, this is for week 5.
There is two presentations of 55 slides and a worksheet for notes covering economical factors. There are embedded videos pause points, exam multiple choice questions and class discussion point . If you are following my SoW 2024-2025, this is Week 17, this now relates to PSA Task 3b support . There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There are activities aimed at building up student notes to have with them in the PSA and capture applied understanding and can be referred to .
There’s a 57 slide presentation covering all aspects surrounding personality and support needs. There are lots of activities to get students thinking about the B2 words in the spec
The character traits that influence how individuals cope:
• resilience
• self-esteem
• emotional intelligence
• disposition – a person’s character traits, e.g. positive, negative
The sources of support that can help individuals adapt:

BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 Health and Social Care Component 1 (2022 spec)- a complete teaching package to pick-up and run with. This covers what the content for A2.Cultural and the second half the A2.Social Factors
If you are following my SoW 2024-2025, this is Week 11, this now relates to PSA Task 2. There are homework tasks for both Level 1 and Level 2 which are adaptable to suit your need eg.date There is an activity to summarise learning and two task using the PEE exam answering technique to support the application of a case study to a cultural factor case study situation.
There is a 32 slide PIES development presentation which is applied to the spec range of cultural factors. There are several activities within the presentation to keep students engaged and pause points for contributions. The activities summarise points that will be easier to refer to in their PSA in January. With this in mind the homework tasks for both level 1 and level 2 students will build up understanding and again give students their own work/notes which can be with them when they are in their controlled assessment hours for Task 2.

Advice for students;
When building your reflective portfolio note the themes and the K&S points clearly at the top.
Collate these into an order you will understand, perhaps using folder dividers. This clear labeling will speed up finding and referring to them in your Assignment 3, you have only 45 minutes to prepare.
Relate aspects of the reflection to things like a specific part of the NMC code, the CQC 5 fundamental standards, legislation, policy and the 6C’s.
The Distinction descriptor ‘application of application of knowledge to practice.’

It starts with an introduction on what students can expect for this unit, it's assessment and the BTEC rules and moves on through the content for A1 and A2, with some reference to the text book. You can add to and adapt this Microsoft Word booklet to suit your own teaching style and your students will have their own completed booklet, from which to revise from.
