Maths Intervention/Booster A Maths booster/intervention that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children. The PowerPoint covers five weeks and covers a range of activities including number writing to 5 and then to 10, missing numbers, number recognition and representation using pictures and addition and subtraction using numbers to 5 and then numbers to 10. I have used this activity to support children with their understanding of number and addition and subtraction and it has helped to boost their confidence when they return to class. HFW Reading Intervention A reading intervention that covers 100 high frequency words/HFW. The words are split into 13 sets with five activities for children to complete for each set. The activities are - read the words, find and colour the star words, match and colour words starting with upper and lower case letters, read the sentences including hfw and use the picture to fill in the missing word and read the sentences and draw a picture to match the sentences. Please note that the sets do not contain equal numbers of words due to needing to construct sentences that make sense. Sentence Writing Intervention A sentence writing booster/intervention that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children who are struggling with writing. The PowerPoint covers five weeks and introduces children to 35 of the 100 high frequency words/hfw. Each week covers reading the focus high frequency words, writing the focus words, cutting and sticking words to make a sentence and then writing a dictated sentence. I have used this activity to encourage children to write sentences with capital letters and full stops and to hold and repeat the sentence in their head. The intervention helps children to gain confidence when they are writing sentences. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children.

Introducing Money A complete Maths lesson for introducing money and coins. The lesson covers the different coins and their value using pennies. There is an activity for swapping coins for a single coin to demonstrate that different coins can be used to make up different amounts and shows children that we need to add the amounts together and not simply count the coins. The lesson includes three differentiated money worksheets and a short plenary. Money Activity Cards A set of money activity cards covering coins only. The cards are split into three sets - cards showing one dot work with coins up to 5p and values below 10p, cards showing two dots work with coins up to 10p and values below 20p and cards showing three dots work with coins up to 20p and values below 30p. There are four activities in each set - Activity 1 - what could I buy with …p activity Activity 2 - adding prices Activity 3 - how much money is in the purse? Activity 4 - can you put the correct amount of money in the purse? Finding Half Lesson A complete Maths lesson for finding half of an amount. The lesson covers finding half of numbers and half of different values of money. The lesson demonstrates how to find half and includes three differentiated worksheets and a short plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children. Doubling Lesson A complete Maths lesson focusing on doubling. The lesson demonstrates what doubling is and covers all doubles to 10 + 10. Children can practise writing the doubles number sentences on their whiteboards and then check that they have written them correctly when they are revealed on the IWB. The lesson includes three differentiated doubling worksheets and a short plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children however could be used as a recap or booster session for Year 2 children.

Time - o’clock Lesson A complete Maths lesson for introducing time in a step by step manner. This interactive lesson focuses on o’clock and introduces key terms to the children before teaching children how to read o’clock. The lesson includes three differentiated o’clock worksheets and a short plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children although could be used as a booster session for Year 2 children. Time - half past lesson A complete Maths lesson for teaching half past in a step by step manner. This interactive lesson focuses on half past. The lesson recaps key terms and o’clock before teaching children how to read half past times. The lesson encourages lots of discussion to ensure that the children understand half past. Maths Spot It Game A Maths game aimed at Year 1 children. The game includes addition and subtraction facts to 10, 2D and 3D shapes, doubling and halving. Each child is given a differentiated clue card showing either a number problem or a shape problem, children solve the problem and then need to look for the solution in the picture slide. Summer Home Learning A summer booklet for children to complete as home learning during the summer holiday. The summer booklet encourages children to record and rate the books that they have read during the summer, to look at the weather, to record what they have learnt, tried and enjoyed and to use their senses to think about the different things that they have experienced. There are two versions of the booklet - a colour version and a black and white version. My New Class A set of 15 activity worksheets for children to complete when they join their new class. Two sets of number bond scavenger hunt cards one for making ten and one for making twenty. Children have to solve the problem and identify the missing number in the number sentence, children then find the previous answer on the next card and continue solving problems until they reach their starting card. These cards can be used as a retrieval activity or as a warm up activity. They can also be used during carpet time as a follow me activity. Aimed at KS1.
