Play Notes on the Ocarina A music activity to help children to learn to play the notes on an ocarina. Each slide shows a different note and explains how to play that note. The notes have all been given names to help children to remember them. The final slide shows children how to play the first line of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star using the Ladybird Ocarina notes. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star A music activity to help children to learn to play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the ocarina. The children first practise playing the different notes with each note having a name to help children to remember them. Children then practise playing the first line of the song on their ocarina, then the first two lines followed by playing the next two lines and then playing the whole song. Initial Sounds A phonics activity for practising and revising initial sounds. Children say the initial sound and then read words including the initial sound. Children must then identify the alien word. Phonics Activity - Digraphs and Trigraphs A phonics activity for practising and revising vowel digraphs and trigraphs or special friends sounds. Children can practise writing real and alien words on their whiteboards using focus sounds. The activity could be used during phonics lesson, as an intervention for any children requiring extra support or in the lead up to the phonics screening. A good activity to support children to recognise sounds plus spell and read words. Phonics Workbook - Digraphs and Trigraphs A fun phonics activity workbook covering vowel digraphs and trigraphs. Each new ‘special friend’ sound has three workbook pages - one to practise writing real words, one to identify alien words and one to complete a sentence using the focus sound in a word. There is a space on the sentence writing page for children to draw a picture to match their sentence. This activity workbook could be completed as part of a group, independently or could be sent home as home learning/homework. I have also used this workbook as Early Morning Work for children to practise their phonics. The workbook supports children to become more confident with each focus sound and as the activities are repeated for each new sound the children can become more independent when completing the workbook. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children although could be used in Year 2 for a booster group or intervention.

Capital Letters Activity An English activity focusing on capital letters, when to use them and what they look like. The PowerPoint shows the children all capital letters and the children then practise writing the capital letters. Children then write the capital letter to match the lower case letter. The Capital Letter Monster then eats some of the capital letters from the alphabet and children have to identify which letters have been eaten and write the capital letters on their whiteboards. Children are then shown sentences with missing capital letters and have to fill in the missing letters. The children will enjoy the fun element of having a monster eating the capital letters and I have used this in class when children have forgotten capital letters in their written work. Full Stops Lesson A complete English lesson covering how and when to use full stops. The lesson explains what a sentence is and when we need to use full stops. It focuses on the use of full stops only and not capital letters as I have found that children can struggle with learning both at the same time. During the main input children have to identify sentences and add full stops. The lesson includes three differentiated worksheets and a plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children although could be used as a recap session or as part of an intervention or booster for Year 2 children.

Happiness Assembly/Presentation A presentation aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children about being a superhero and spreading happiness and smiles. The presentation explains that we all have a superpower and that superpower is making people smile. The presentation asks children to think about how they can make people smile and provides some ideas for how we can spread happiness. The presentation could be used as an assembly or during a PSHE discussion or lesson. The children will enjoy believing that they are a superhero and using their superpowers. Emotions Assembly/Presentation A presentation about emotions, what they are and how we can recognise and control them. This presentation can be used as an assembly or during a PSHE discussion or lesson about emotions. The PowerPoint includes questions for children to think about and answer. Can be used to help children to understand that everybody experiences positive and negative emotions and how we can deal with these emotions. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.

Finding Half Lesson A complete Maths lesson for finding half of an amount. The lesson covers finding half of numbers and half of different values of money. The lesson demonstrates how to find half and includes three differentiated worksheets and a short plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children. Doubling Lesson A complete Maths lesson focusing on doubling. The lesson demonstrates what doubling is and covers all doubles to 10 + 10. Children can practise writing the doubles number sentences on their whiteboards and then check that they have written them correctly when they are revealed on the IWB. The lesson includes three differentiated doubling worksheets and a short plenary. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children however could be used as a recap or booster session for Year 2 children.

Making 5 and 10 Activity Worksheets Two sets of 8 different Maths activity worksheets to practise making 5 and 10 covering bar models, part whole models, adding using objects and word problems. These sheets focus solely on number bonds to 5 or to 10. They also give children the opportunity to practise recording number sentences. I have used these as worksheets during Maths lessons plus have also laminated the different sheets for children to use during choosing time or early work. Making 5 and 10 Activity Cards Two sets of Maths activity task cards for making 5 and 10. Each set includes 6 number bond activities for making 5 or 10 including using a bar model, part whole models, addition and word problems. These cards can be used as part of a number bond Maths lesson or could be used during choosing time for children to practise number bonds to 5 or 10. The activity cards also give children the opportunity to practise recording number sentences. These cards can be laminated so that they can be used again. Number Bonds - Making Five and Ten PowerPoints Two number bonds activity Powerpoints for making 5 or 10. These Maths activities can support children to learn and practise number bonds to make 5 and 10. Each activity shows children all of the different number bonds for making five or ten. Each number bond has a word problem eg I have ten dogs, 5 of them are playing in the garden. How many dogs are in the kennel? Children can solve these problems using objects and pictorial representations and record their number sentence on their whiteboards. Activity could be used as a whole class activity or in small groups. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children although could be used during a booster session or as part of an intervention for Year 2 children.

Introducing Money A complete Maths lesson for introducing money and coins. The lesson covers the different coins and their value using pennies. There is an activity for swapping coins for a single coin to demonstrate that different coins can be used to make up different amounts and shows children that we need to add the amounts together and not simply count the coins. The lesson includes three differentiated money worksheets and a short plenary. Money Activity Cards A set of money activity cards covering coins only. The cards are split into three sets - cards showing one dot work with coins up to 5p and values below 10p, cards showing two dots work with coins up to 10p and values below 20p and cards showing three dots work with coins up to 20p and values below 30p. There are four activities in each set - Activity 1 - what could I buy with …p activity Activity 2 - adding prices Activity 3 - how much money is in the purse? Activity 4 - can you put the correct amount of money in the purse? I laminate these cards for use in Maths lessons and children select the challenge that they would like to complete - one dot, two dots or three dots. Suitable for Early Years and Year 1 children.
