Check out this awesome student-friendly inventory to gain insight into the culture in your classroom. This assessment of culture includes 20 questions that students respond with a smiling emojiy, straight faced emoji or a frowning emoji based on how much they agree or disagree with the statements. There are then seven short answer questions. These 27 questions will allow the teacher to understand what the students are feeling and how they erceive themselves in the grand scheme of the classroom as well as their relationship with the teacher. It can be implemented as regularly as possible in order to reflect and adapt based on student responses.

This 14 question assessment provides insight into students' understanding of scientific inquiry. It covers topics of the difference between an observation and an opinion. It alos looks at topics that describe how the five sense can be used as well as simple experiment set ups. It looks at predictions as well as basic science tool usage. I have always found anonymous reflective surveys to be a crucial personal growth process as a teacher. In an effort to hold all group members accountable for the work they do when working with others, this simple rubric allows for students to asses their peers on their contributions to the group. It is separated into four components which include participation, behavior, on task behaviors, and work. Students will rank each peer on a level 1, 2, or 3. This grade can be used as you please but will offer valuable insight into how each team member carried himself/herself in the groupwork. The rubric is color coded, and user friendly. Take your grades and groupwork to a whole new level. Students always work harder when they know they are going to be held accountable for their actions :)
