Invest your students in stem fair and create easy documentation regarding project intent with this simple and user friendly submission for for science fair. Students will be required to list their required materials and answer a few questions about what they plan on doing for science fair. Students will sign their name and ate their submission form which will serve as a solid foundation moving forward as you track all students in your classroom. Stop stressing yourself over assigning behavior grades for your students and transfer that autonomy onto the student! Each student will receive one tracker form for each month and at the end of class, students are to self assess and assign a grade to themselves for their behavior that day. For differentiation purposes, students can also elaborate and justify on why they assigned that grade. Students can use this reflective process to take ownership over the behavior and adjust it accordingly. Additionally, teachers have a simple and cohesive documentation of behavior throughout the year which is useful for parent notification, student led conferences and simple tracking! Check out this simple and user-friendly log that can be used to record and document your student conferences regarding their progress. This can easily be used for student led conferences or can be facilitated by the teacher. The template has 4 meeting spots on it, if you want to meet weekly or whatever best fits your schedule. Easily create a binder tracking these conferences over the course of the year for each student. The log has three main areas which include "Strengths", "Areas of Focus", and "Next Steps". Check out this fun and interactive playground measurement activity that will get students out of their seats and into their world while investing them in measurement and geometry as well as excited about math in the world around them! Students can work independently, in partners or small groups in which they will be sent off to identify the shapes and measure those shapes from the playground where they will have to draw the shape, describe it, measure it, and find the perimeter (if applicable)! Check out this awesome method to increase comprehension, close reading and critical thinking of students. The intention of the ABC brainstorm template is to be used with a broad topic to activate prior knowledge, to be used as a supplement to a reading as key words are pulled out, or to be used as a tracker with learning. Students will write a word or phrase starting with each letter of the alphabet and then complete a summary sentence after all (or most) letters are filled in. The activity is meant to start with the specific topic that is applicable to the student which gets filled in at the top. This package comes with two pages that include an example for students to reference and understand the steps as well as three practice templates that have very clear and organized spaces to fill in as they go. Students can easily glue this in their notebook and will build foundational knowledge as they develop this skill. Facilitate your conversation roundtables discussions with this simple and self-explanatory template. Students will record their notes for each of the three other students at their roundtable and then reflect on their conversations by creating one coherent summary statement at the bottom. There are four differentiated versions with different sized spacing, bullets, and blank space for you to meet the needs of your specific students but still maintain uniformity in expectations. Check out this simple but engaging worksheet activity. Students are prompted with 10 questions each with a line of different length. Students are to use their own rulers and measure the length of each line using the centimeters as their unit of measurement. This can easily be adapted for small group, independent practice, guided practice, an exit ticket or a performance assessment! Check out my Measuring Inches Activity Worksheet Assessment as well!

For those of you who love tracking, documenting, and keeping files, this weekly behavior management tracking system is for you! This system has been made for the Green, Yellow and Red systems that are already in place in your classroom, but can be adjusted easily to any other 3-Tier systems by editing the category labels (its a Word file). This system is meant to complement your existing system, but offer a way of tracking and documenting. At the end of each day, I would have a student go down the list and put colored checks for each student, so by the end of the week I had a full week's worth of data on behavior with specific codes annotated next to each day when points were taken away. This made referencing and phone calls home easy and data based. PLEASE let me know if you have any questions as to who this works or how to use it in your classroom!

Check out this simple and fun sequence of events graphic organizer that is student friendly and visually lays out components to ensure student success. This template can easily be adapted for any grade since it comes in three forms. One form has a box up top and a caption below for student to model the events with a picture and then describe it as well as the second form where there are just boxes. The second form can be used for students to draw in or simply write in. The third form has the lines inside of the box to add structure for students as well as simply and easily differentiated. Increase student understanding and retention using this Frayer Model strategy! This sheet has two half-sheets on it that are identical to print and disburse to students. The model will allow students to engage with new terminology with multiple access points. The students will put the term in the center circle, represent it with a visual, list synonyms/antonyms, define it as well as use it in a sentence. As you introduce new terminology through the week, students can complete this template with partners, small groups, independently or use it as a homework! This strategy won't disappoint! Aligned with EngageNY and Common Core, check out this template that can easily be adapted for addition and subtraction using a place value chart as well as multiplying and dividing by tens, hundreds, etc. Students can also use this to help develop conceptual understanding of exponents and how this operations cause each number to "slide" up or down the place value chart as opposed to the decimal being the one that shifts. This can easily be laminated and written on using a dry erase marker, and/or used as worksheets to facilitate learning in class or for homework. The file comes in four differentiated versions that include or exclude various parts of the place value chart up to millions and down to ten thousandths.

Check out this simple yet effective note taking template that students can use to record major take-aways while reading. Limiting big ideas to six key elements, students will be forced to synthesize their text and organize their ideas. Students are given a small space to record their thoughts as well as a space to draw a small representation of that idea. This user-friendly and self explanatory template has the capacity to increase comprehension, be used for evidence from the text and so much more as it is adapted to your classroom!
