5 lists in 5 minutes: Norman England

Who is it for? GCSE students studying Anglo-Saxon and Norman England. What’s included? 5 separate PDF sheets of the 5 lists in 5 minutes activity. Why is it useful? This activity can be used at any stage in the GCSE course once knowledge of the topics has been covered; can be used both in class or as homework/revision. Topics in the 5 lists per sheet have been created with a focus on the GCSE Edexcel 9-1 specification (although could be used with other exam boards too) and taking into account what questions they will be expected to answer in the exam. This activity encourages knowledge retrieval and recall of the key features of Norman England. How do I use this resource? I use this resource as a starter activity. Students have 5 minutes to write down as much as hey know abut the topics in the list, followed by minute sharing and stealing from their partner. This is followed up by whole class discussion of the topics to ensure understanding and correcting any misconceptions. I use this same resource over and over again with the same classes to encourage regular knowledge recall of the topics. Please see my other resources. Feedback very welcome. Thankyou.
