This 77 page pack is the ideal accompaniment to the novel 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. This fun unit will help your students get the most out of the novel and develop their reading and comprehension skills as well as allowing students to develop skills across a number of subject areas. Allow your students to explore Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and the characters that visit, including, of course, Charlie Bucket. Included is a student front cover sheet for the unit, character studies, setting description activities, reading activities, writing activities and cross-curricular ‘all about chocolate’ activities in which students will design and develop their own candy bar. There are also multiple choice comprehension quizzes for the entire novel including answers. This fantastic 72 page guided reading pack is fully aligned to the New UK National Curriculum 2014 for Key Stage 2 fiction reading. These engaging resources and activities will save you plenty of time when it comes to preparing guided reading activities! Included are reading activity sheets, focusing on character, setting, plot and language, which can be used as part of guided reading, whole class session or independent work. They can be used with any fiction story. There are also 48 reading question cards which can be used alongside any fiction story in guided reading sessions or during independent reading. Also included is a guided reading recording sheet on which you can record your pupils’ responses during guided reading sessions. I have included an example of how I use them in class. I have also included bright, colourful covers for each of your guided reading groups to record their names on for use in your guided reading folder.
