The home for high-quality SATs resources

Average Rating4.46
(based on 17 reviews)

Resources are within the KS2 range. They are ideal for an NQT in KS2 as some are quite descriptive. Many resources are aimed at the Year 6 level (or Year 5) as I have had to create me own SATs resources over the years (especially since 2014). They have really helped the thousandds of children that I have seen benefit from them; I hope they help your class too.

SATS RECAP FOR MATHS

(0)
Covers the major areas before the SATs examination. I used this as a tool a few days before the tests - can be used throughout the year as a quick way to assess their knowledge of most of the curriculum.

BIDMAS DICE GAME FOR KS2 - Mastery Approach

(0)
No worksheets required to teach mastery for BIDMAS! Pupils create their own BIDMAS questions using a dice and this guide. This resource has worked excellently for me and other teachers over the years; it also stops children from completing endless boring sheets working out the order of operations.
World Cup Maths Investigation KS2

World Cup Maths Investigation KS2

(3)
Use the inverse (or trial and error at first) for doubles/halves to find the answers for the missing boxes in this investigation. Ideal for World Cup topic work or for a maths starter in Years 5 or 6. Could even be used as a whole school competition - or as an end of reward. Feel free to add more boxes for differentiation or change the ratios at the beginning to make it more challenging.
Evolution of the Horse Year 6 Science

Evolution of the Horse Year 6 Science

(1)
Lesson plan and resources to help your class understand how evolution works. It is very simple and children are normally able to explain the evolutionary process after this activity. It even comes with a next step to help the children solidify their learning. No differentiation as this should be accessible for the whole class.
Worded Maths Questions

Worded Maths Questions

(1)
Worded Maths Questions for children in year 6 or KS3. Used before SATs as a top-up or to find missing knowledge in their calculation skills.

Catholic / Protestant - What is the difference?

(1)
Two day’s module for RE teaching children the difference between Catholics and Protestants. It can be used for KS2 or KS3. The work is suitable for all ages, but there are some tricky elements to work through with your class. Planning is rigid, but is adaptable. Let me know if there are any improvements you would like.

Years 5/6 - Why do people believe in God?

(0)
SACRE - RE topic based on the question: Why do people believe in God? Questions to stick into book as headers alongside planning and a look at the book of Genesis for good measure. The planning and topic are fairly open and feel free to change as you wish. Ideally, this is for the Warwick SACRE scheme. But, it still can be used for any teacher looking to introduce this difficult subject matter.

11 Plus Non-Verbal Make Your Own

We have had great progress with pupils and non-verbal when they have used this sheet to create their own pattern. Worksheet includes example to work from. The final question allows the pupil to recap and explore new patterns. A must for any child taking the 11 Plus.

Reading Comp for Giant's Necklace

(1)
Reading comprehension for pages 9 - 11 of the Giant’s Necklace. Questions aimed for Year 6 children as they are clearly SATs orientated. Would be best used during the first lesson of Giant’s Necklace. Let me know what you think.

Invention of Hugo Cabret - Weekly Plan

(1)
Weekly plan for work relating to *Invention of Hugo Cabret * Contains resources and links to use. Fantastic for an introductory topic in a year group or for getting some high-level writing from your class. Ideally, there will be a class set of books to accompany this.
11 Plus Diagnostic

11 Plus Diagnostic

(1)
Diagnostic that covers major areas of the 11 Plus Warwickshire Exam. Areas covered: Maths, Cloze, Reading Comprehension, Verbal Non Verbal. Sorry for poor quality of the later ones. Resources found on free-to-view websites.

Short reading sheets for more able children

(1)
Reading sheets for a range of topics taken from various websites. They cover a wide range of topics and can be used as starters or to fill 10 / 20 minutes if you would like to teach your class something new. Some concepts are tricky, but most more-able children are able to explain them with a little instruction.

Years 5 and 6 spellings- Weekly Homework

(2)
National Curriculum Spelling set out weekly for your class. They start in the Years 3 and 4 region and progress into 5 and 6. Spellings increase from 10 a week, to 12 and finally 15. These lists have included many spellings to be tested by SATs. Some spellings are repeated. This is not an error. Trickier spellings are revisited based on how my previous classes have worked with them. Feel free to edit them.
