A series of lessons on Venn Diagrams which involve drawing information from a Venn Diagram, drawing venn diagrams and calculating probabilities from Venn Diagrams. This lesson can be aimed at middle and high ability and all tasks are differentiated to at least 2 different levels. All tasks have solutions and is ideal to use with a new curriculum topic. Used with year 11 and pupils engaged and being challenged at all levels.

A series of lessons (1-2) on solving equations involving Algebraic Fractions. The main task is differentiated 3 ways however there are many further opportunities to problem solve, reasoning tasks and also proof tasks. The has been used with KS4 and proved to be engaging and challenging in the run up to the exam. The lesson has been tailored to satisfy the needs of the new curriculum with a variation of tasks. All tasks have worked solutions.

A set of 6 lesson starters targeting key areas of weakness for high ability year 11. Used on numerous occasions and proved to be a success. At the end of 2 weeks the aim is that all pupils will be able to complete all 6 within the allocated time for your starter when initially only being able to complete 1 or 2.

A series of lessons on finding fractions of an amount. All tasks are differentiated at least 3 ways and there is an opportunity to problem solve, reasoning tasks and also worded problems. There is the opportunity to problem solve to prepare pupils for the new curriculum. All tasks come with solutions and are non printable so easy use in class. Can be used for KS2, KS3 and low ability KS4. Pupils have been engaged throughout during this lesson.

A series of lessons on finding percentages of an amount. Pupils are given the opportunity to problem solve in various contexts, learn the skill and also tackle worded problems to ensure they are working with literacy. All tasks are differentiated at least 3 ways, if not 4 and all solutions are included on each slide. This can be used with KS2, KS3 or low ability KS4. Pupils engaged completing tasks.

A series of lessons on Multiplying and Dividing fractions with a end of topic task at the end recapping all 4 operations. Perfect for KS2 - KS4 dependent on the ability of the pupils and ensures that the key skills are embedded aswell as problem solving and reasoning tasks. This will prepare the pupils for the new content and different style of questions that are coming up in the new GCSE 9-1. Used with year 7 - 11 in the last few weeks and pupils engaged and stretched

2 sets of starters, which will last a minimum of 12 lessons which are worth 28 marks in total. They focus on key skills in the new 9-1 Foundation GCSE to ensure that pupils can improve their raw score. The same questions are repeated for 6 lessons with the aim that at the end of the 6 lessons that they will be able to achieve the 14 marks.

In each PPT there are 6 individual starters (12 in total) in which the same 5 questions are repeated but just different values. These have been proven to ensure 5 topics are revisited at the beginning of lessons which are generally 2-3 marks each on an exam. Pupils like the repetition of the same questions each lesson and seeing progress from maybe being able to do 1 to doing all 5 at the end of the 6 lessons. Pupils really do see the benefit and a nice way to have a task ready on pupil entry to the classroom.

A series of lessons (2/3) on applying the 4 operations to algebraic fractions. All tasks are 3/4 parts differentiated, red, amber, green and purple with solutions to all tasks. Used with top set year 11 and stretched the more able and consolidated the basics aswell, suitable for all KS4 Higher pupils Pupils fully engaged in problem solving and tailored to suit the new curriculum.

RAG Task on Solving Linear Equations. Includes unknowns on both or one side of an equation, including fractions and also negative solutions. A task which engages pupils and ensures progress can be made through a topic. Works well with KS3 and KS4

A series of lessons (Max 3 Lessons) on simplifying Algebraic Fractions. All tasks are differentiated upto 3 levels with solutions to all tasks. There is an opportunity to problem solve and also proof questions similar to that in the exam. Lessons coming up on applying the 4 operations to Algebraic Fractions and also Solving Algebraic Fractions

A complete lesson on Adding and Subtracting Fractions. All tasks are differentiated at least 3 ways, with worked solutions and typed solutions to all questions. The lesson is ideal for the new spec as it includes problem solving and reasoning with solutions. Also introduces the idea of algebraic fractions. Ideal for Year 7-11 and lasts 2-3 lessons.

A Thoughts and Crosses on using and applying the nth term of an arithmetic sequence. Does not go into too much detail such as from a diagram ect but a nice end of topic assessment to see what have been learnt. It is differentiated 4 ways and also each specific row gets more difficult as you go along it so each question offers a different challenge. Pupils always engaged when using this activity and can be used in exercise books or as an assessment poster task

RAG Task on nth term from a diagram. Ensures that the pupils are challenged and understand how to apply the nth term. Variation of questions, continuing a sequence, finding the nth term ect. This task will be accessible to all abilities. Full lesson on sequences to following for new curriculum.

Red and Green treasure hunt where pupils answer a question, find the solution and so on. 2 different levels to ensure that there is differentiation. Can be used for revision and once laminated used over again. Pupils engaged whether doing it in class books, as a poster or as a treasure hunt

Pupils are given this worksheet which has 6 different calculations on. It is coloured so each coloured is a different stage of working out Blue - Question Yellow - Stage 1 Red - Stage 2 Green - Solution It models how the pupils should be setting out this question in order for future questions. Pupils have been engaged with this and has worked well with revision and on a poster for pupils. Colours can be removed for the more able students

A RAG task which enables pupils to develop their use of a Venn Diagram. It offers challenge and also engagement to ensure that the pupils can fully complete a venn diagram and stretch the more able to pull information from a venn diagram. Suitable for KS3 and KS4 aswell as the new curriculum. Full lesson including probabilities from a Venn Diagram to follow.

An ideal resource which can recap using the four operations with fractions. It practices the skills, using it in functional problems and then introduces the more able pupils to more vague contexts which are ideal for the new curriculum. Ideal for revision, as a lesson, a game and engages the pupils to really challenge themselves. Full lesson to follow the ensure pupils are fully prepared for new curriculum.

RAG Task on Expanding Brackets. Offers pupils the chance to work on single, two single or double brackets and collecting like terms. Offers a wide range of challenge and progression which engages the pupils. Used at both KS3 and KS4.
