Mythbusters: Respect for IP uses an online ‘mythbusting' quiz to challenge young people into confronting common perceptions about intellectual property and film viewing choices. Students can then conduct their own research into the topic of respect for IP, before bringing it all together and creating their own quiz to challenge friends and family.
This short resource can be used in informal settings or the classroom and is perfect to explore in the lead up to the summer holidays. Developed in partnership with Industry Trust.

This immersive, exciting and varied resource will take young people on a quest to become Chopstick Warriors by teaching them about the history and handling of chopsticks. They will teach others and perform a range of challenges to perfect the art of the chopstick, then battle other competitors in school, culminating in The Rice Challenge, with the intention of being crowned Chopstick Master.
Teachers are provided with a fun downloadable ‘Chopstick Challenge' resource pack that includes how to create and run a Chopstick League within their school. This is an easy to use end of term resource designed to bring the school community together with an engaging and challenging project to help celebrate the end of the school year. The DVD is on general release from July 11th 2016. This resource contains guides to two short documentary films, Hamsa and Boya Boya (Shine Shine) which have been specially selected to be accessible to learners within the 11 to 19 age range. The guides include discussion questions, and activity ideas to encourage learners to ask and answer questions and reflect on why people seek sanctuary in other countries.

A resource to work with the 2016 feature film Race, which tells the amazing life story of Jesse Owens and his performance at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, engaging audiences with the impact of an individual and events on the world stage both 80 years ago and today. This resource should be used with the accompanying Race PowerPoint presentation, which contains clips, stills and prompt questions to support delivery of all the activities outlined in these notes. Through these activities learners can deepen their understanding and critical analysis of these significant historical events and compare interpretations in Race with other sources of information, and in turn create their own pieces of writing, artwork and/or filmmaking to reflect and share ideas on the themes raised in the film.

This resource, comprising of a Silent Shakespeare: The Tempest 1908 PowerPoint and PDF, provides a range of activities based on the 3Cs and 3Ss of film to help young people to explore this silent adaptation of the play. The activities are differentiated and are suitable for both primary and secondary students.

This assembly, produced in partnership with The Industry Trust, The Intellectual Property Office and FACT is for students aged 14-19 to consider the impact and ethics of film piracy, the consequences of downloading a film illegally and the impact of film piracy on the creative industries and creative individuals, including themselves. The message of the assembly is a positive one, giving students information about where to download films legally, how they protect their own work and consider using those skills required in the creative industries, which are protected by intellectual property (IP) legislation. This resource can also be adapted for use in Media Studies, Citizenship, PSHE and Computing lessons.

In view of the Turner Prize being held in Glasgow in 2015, this resource has been created to help students explore art in film and filmmaking as art. It celebrates the Turner Prize by encouraging young people to explore contemporary artists, offering stimulus for young people’s creation of art using film, animation and video installations. The activities and frameworks provide a springboard for young people to develop their own self-expression through their artwork, including the production of their own experimental film, with opportunities for students to record their responses throughout.
