Consolidates the understanding of 'difference' as subtraction. Two levels of differentiated sheets suitable for Year 1 children.

I used this with Year 1 children who were quite confident in recognising coin values and and counting on. Use the coins to make 10 and then have them record as number sentences.

Use it as an extension activity when teaching about doubling and recording addition.
