An engaging and interactive lesson in which students gather information about poet Thomas Hardy. Students conduct guided research before sharing their findings with their partner. The use of iPads or a device would benefit the student research although this is not essential as information about Hardy is already provided.

Source based work designed for Oxford AQA IGCSE, however, this can easily be adapted for other exam boards. The lesson focuses on inference skills and includes differentiated resources. Students answer an exam style question and peer assess each other’s responses using the mark scheme. At least two lessons of work provided.
