Structured Activity: Also put onto different sheets of paper and at the end of each ask them would they buy shares/invest in Snapchat if they could.. or could use just as powerpoint slides) . could break up around the class (one per pair get them to read out and discuss why it matters; if they would or would not invest because of X and why) then link this to depends on which type of shareholder you are.. link to Short term and long term investors. then look at why shareholders matter (sports-direct page has them influencing decisions) before leading onto so shareholders are interested in share prices.. so what affects these..(ipo and now share price activity and then famous companies with changing share prices)

Use this for the 1st lesson either for lower 6 (AS) or Upper 6 (A2) to highlight how appropriate business decisions depend on the context/situation. How in some situations one decision is appropriate but in another less so. Use as an Ice-breaker but also set the scene that context/application matter, Can also be used to highlight objectives, strategy, tactics. Can be used to highlight important skills to do well in business... application, analysis and judgment. 2 x survival situations, grids, instructions, ideas for feedback

Mix & Match Contexts/Situations to theories/decisions Activity AQA business Year 1 theories

Brand new activity designed for my A Level Business class for revision but also would work for skill building at end of year 1: 52 contexts (slips/boxes) and 32 Slides of the main theory/contexts in the Year 1 of the AQA specification (one theory per slide) on each slide students are asked to identify two contexts - one that could be useful / important / an issue for and one less so... they then need to explain why - so building contextualised analysis skills for short answers and compare and contrast judgment skills for essays. 52 compare and contrast contexts are thought of - which can be cut out so students can have a kinaesthetic activity or printed onto one A3 sheet of paper for quicker identification. fully editable revision or skills building resource
