This folder contains the following impersonal verbs and reflexive in the imperfect tense: Falloir Pleuvoir S'agir Se servir de Se laver Se souvenir When showing each slide, there is an audio clip on each new item that you can click on and you will hear my voice which demonstrates the pronunciation of each item, or alternatively, you can lead the pronunciation of each item. This activity is suitable from Key Stage 3 onwards. The answers are also available with the activities. There are also some more complex material incorporated in this resource as such as the use of agreements, using a direct object with a reflexive verb and the use of 'se faire'. Answers to the test of 'Stage 3-9: The imperfect tense'. My advice is as follows: 32-40 correct answers: Very well done! There is a more advanced test available titled as 'Stage 3-9a: Higher level test of the imperfect tense'. Try this before attempting the 'Stage 4: The pluperfect tense' activity. 0-31 correct answers: I am sorry but you have failed the test. Please re-try this test before attempting the more advanced test.

Test on the imperfect tense, based on random verbs studied in Stage 3 and also further examines the present and perfect tense. There are thirty questions based on the imperfect tense and also ten supplementary questions on the present and perfect tense. (This is a very good way not to forget tenses previously studied!). Answers are available for this test at a cost of £2. Whatever time limit you set your students to complete this test is totally up to you, but I would recommend 15-20 minutes. I would also recommend obtaining at least 32 correct answers before proceeding onto test 'Stage 3-9a' which is a more comprehensive test.

Here is a useful resource which explains the concept of 'etre en train de faire quelque chose'. It starts off with some examples which fundamentally explains its significance, followed by games and drill practice. Relative pronouns using 'lequel, laquelle, lesquels, lesquelles' is a highly tricky concept and requires much greater understanding, however I have designed this activity to facilitate this and there is a quiz which follows. Upon completing the 5-step method, you will have developed a much more proficient understanding of it all. This concept is briefly mentioned at IGCSE level, but used more profoundly at AS and A2 level French.
