This is 2 weeks worth of planning based on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It includes reference to the new National Curriculum and has grammar starters, differentiated success criteria and Big Write opportunities. It was planned for Year 2 focusing mainly on the Band 2 Learning objectives. I have also included some of the resources that I made to support this unit including WAGOLL, templates, WALTS and word banks for my EAL learners.

This is 6 weeks of RE planning for Year 4 looking at Judaism which answer the ‘Big Question’ How does the Torah influence the lives of Jewish people? I have included planning and Success criteria for 6 lessons and any resources I have made myself. Other resources are from google images or Twinkl but I am not able to include these. Session 1 - I am learning to consider what/ who is important to me. I am learning to know that Jewish people believe in one G-d. I am learning the importance of the creation story to Jewish people. Session 2 - I am learning to understand in what ways is the importance of the Torah demonstrated? Session 3 - I am learning to know what is meant by their term tradition. I am learning to know the importance of Shabbat and family to the Jewish people. Session 4 - I am learning to know that Shabbat is a special rest time for Jewish people. I am learning to talk about the Havdalah ceremony. I am learning to think about and discuss my own experience of rest and peace. Session 5 - I am learning to know and understand the Jewish belief in one good God. I am learning about the rules Jewish people follow. Session 6 - I am learning about the Synagogue.

This is planning for 5 sessions of art that linked with our Year 4 topic ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It includes a lesson on -magnifying images of mammals skin using soft pastels a feather collage leading to a wings sculpture fimo mini beast sculptures clay dragon eyes finally creating a page to add to the book including sketches and a written description. This is 5 weeks of RE planning for Year 4 which answer the ‘Big Question’ How do people show what they believe? I have included planning and Success criteria for 5 lessons and any resources I have made myself. Other resources are from google images or Twinkl but I am not able to include these. Session 1 - I am learning to listen and read a wide range of religious stories. Session 2 - I am learning to explore the uses and special meanings of writing. Session 3 - I am learning to show understanding of fairness in a global context. I am learning to explore how personal beliefs affect our attitudes to others. Session 4 - I am learning to identify what Christians believe about equality and fairness using a variety of resources. I am learning to be able to use my knowledge to suggest future actions. Session 5 - I am learning to discover whether Christians out their beliefs into practice through supporting charities. I am learning to understand what motivates different people to support charities.

I made these guided reading record sheets each time I listen to a group read. Each group and session had a new sheet. I highlight off the target the session has focused on which makes updating target tracker much easier! There is space for a reading focus and 2 questions along with the pupils names and book read during that session.

I am learning that Easter is a celebration of new life. Session 5 - I am learning to understand the importance of symbols. Session 6 - I am learning to understand the importance of symbols.

This is 3 weeks worth of planning based on the POR test - The Pebble in my Pocket by Meredith Hooper. It was planned for Year 4 focusing mainly on the Band 4 Learning objectives. Have also included some of the resources that I have made for these lessons. However, some of the resources have been downloaded from Twinkl which I am unable to include in this download. Some of the images have been taken from google and links are made to other websites on the plan that we used. I hope it is useful. My class really loved this book and did some brilliant writing.

Running records and questions that I created for the following books - A Squash and a Squeeze How to hide a lion The Day the Crayons The Dragon Machine The Three Little Javelinas The Sound Collector The Tear Thief These were used to gather evidence for Year 2 Reading SATS prior to moderation. I also filmed and timed the children reading to provide evidence for fluency. The running records are marked to show where 100 words are. ** UPDATE ** These have also been updated to have the reading level - working toward/ working at/ greater depth and questions added to How to Hide a Lion as these hadn’t uploaded last time.
