A one-off lesson which can be used with KS3 classes to introduce them to the basic plot of 'Frankenstein' as part of a study of gothic literature or as part of a creative writing scheme. The lesson involves finding the techniques which Shelley has used and then putting them into practice by writing a modern day version of the monster's creation.

This resource can be used in many different ways depending on student ability levels - this allows for various levels of differentiation within the same lesson. In this ppt I provide slides themed around exploring poetry linked to the theme of 'lions' (along with two poems which can be used in the lesson) as well as providing slides without any link to lions so that you can use the same resource with any poetry of your choice.
