The license is a single-user licence only. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I encourage my beginner Spanish students of all ages and stages to build up comprehensive vocabulary banks that they can reference easily whenever they need it, and they’re also really useful for regular vocabulary audits, which really helps students map their progress and keep track of their learning. Students take responsibility for organizing their own learning materials from the very beginning of their learning, keeping them carefully in vocabulary learning binders or folders. My students all have reference resource folders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files (we also use twine or thick string). I also use this kind of vocabulary list for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on, and it also works well laminated for small-group work in class time. The font size is fairly large, as ensuring that language is clear and accessible is essential for beginner language learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with words and spelling systems in a new language. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I generally use for Spanish vocabulary display, and plain. Have a browse in my store for more freebie Spanish vocabulary lists, including a selection of visual vocabulary lists for very young learners, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning materials, with Spanish resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. Sopas de Letras are a fabulous way of encouraging learners to engage with the written word in Spanish, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie features a fruits word search with answer key, perfect for beginner Spanish learners of all grades. The fruits include masculine, feminine, singular and plural, with a blend of definite and indefinite articles - this really helps learners think a little more creatively about language, and their new Spanish vocabulary - they may learn la manzana, and it’s useful to give students opportunity to think about grammatical concepts, and how la becomes una for example. There is a Spanish to English grid, where learners are prompted with the Spanish word, and look for them in Spanish in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an English word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test! Learners can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. Having a good bilingual dictionary to hand is also a good idea, as this provides a further focus on developing literacy in both Spanish and English, and facilitates learner independence. There is an answer key grid, so that learners can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. Answer keys are really essential - they offer learners an additional opportunity to engage with language, and they genuinely enjoy ‘correcting’ their own, and particularly each others’ work! They’re a great teacher time-saver too, which is always a good thing! The word search is in landscape format, as I’ve found this to be the best format for beginner language learners. This kind of activity is really versatile - I use as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when I’m focusing on fruits in Spanish. ITALIAN DAYS MONTHS SEASONS LIST FREEBIE

PRIMARY ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN VOCABULARY DAYS, MONTHS, SEASONS I create a lot of essential vocab lists for my language students, as they find them really useful, both in the classroom and at home. The lists work well when students keep them carefully in learning files or folders for current and future reference. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for target vocabulary display, or black wave. I use a background for vocabulary lists quite a lot, because it does make them more visually appealing, which is really important for language learners who do have a lot of vocabulary to learn. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of Italian, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell time. Children glue the lists into their Italian vocabulary books, or file them in their Italian vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful***Italian vocabulary reference bank*** for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner***Italian*** learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to Italian prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with a particular time set, I then move on to additional time sets. SPANISH CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER

(1)
KS3 SPANISH KS4 SPANISH GCSE SPANISH KS5 SPANISH A LEVEL SPANISH I’ve created a lot of ‘quick conjugation workbooks’ for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups, tenses and moods in Spanish. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbook, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence. My quick conjugation workbooks focus on a specific set of 25 essential Spanish verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, and irregular verbs. This sampler demonstrates a range of Spanish conjugation challenges, with the answer key immediately following the relevant conjugation questions. It will definitely give you an idea of what the quick conjugation workbooks look like, and how they are structured, and whether you think they’ll work well for your students. The contents are as follows: : Spanish high-frequency verbs list: Spanish-English : Spanish -AR verbs list: English-Spanish Spanish high-frequency verbs present tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key : Spanish -IR verbs perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 2 with answer key : Spanish -ER verbs: preterite tense conjugation: Challenge 3 with answer key : Spanish -AR verbs conditional perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key Have a browse in my store for more Spanish grammar activities, and a wide range of Spanish language teaching and learning materials, with dollar deals, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies too! There are 5 German to German grids, with an additional English vocabulary list to complete for extra spelling and recall practice. For extra challenge, there are 5 English to German grids, with an additional German vocabulary list to complete - that’s a really effective way of consolidating vocabulary. They facilitate learner independence, also giving them an additional opportunity to engage with the target language - they also genuinely enjoy assessing their own, and each others’ work. GERMAN BREAKFAST WORD WALL

(0)
PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN BEGINNER GERMAN BREAKFAST WORD WALL Deutsch für Kinder Das Frühstück Word Wall 18 scrumptious breakfast items. Displaying key vocabulary in the German classroom is a really simple and successful way of creating a German ambiance, showing***language in its real-world use***, and keeping language fresh in students’ minds, particularly in the introductory phase of that particular vocabulary set. There are 18 breakfast items in this word wall, though I may not actually have all the items in my learning plan. I tend to include additional language to help students develop language skills and awareness in general. There is implicit grammatical input, with a focus on the definite article in German, a range of masculine, feminine and neuter, singular and plural. We look at cognates and near-cognates, and talk about similarities and differences between the words in German and English. We discuss breakfast in general, what we like to eat, or we’d like to try. In this way, the word wall becomes a real learning tool, and not simply attractive classroom decor. The breakfast items are: bacon : yoghurt : cup of coffee : cereal : jam : pancakes : croissant : waffles porridge : orange juice : milk : boiled egg & boiled eggs (useful for looking at singular/plural differences) : fried egg : toast : bread rolls : syrup : tea There are two headers: Guten Appetit! and Das Frühstück. Students enjoy creating their own headers too, as well as adding to the number of breakfast items as they develop their German vocabulary. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format, which ensures the words are big enough for students to be able to read from various locations in the classroom. PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN NUMBERS 0-21 WORD WALL I like to display key vocab in my language learning classrooms - word walls are a simple and effective way of doing that - this set offers an instant introduction to numbers 0-21 in German. We use them for number guessing and calculation games as well as quick vocab and spelling quizzes too. There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read from various locations in the classroom, so that we can really make the most of our learning display - we do lots of mental maths, spelling and vocab games, as well as pronunciation practice for example. There are two backgrounds to choose from - German flag or black wave. I always laminate/print my word walls on robust card stock - they last for absolutely years!
